Comments Thread For: Kubrat Pulev Will Now Face Joey Abell on Dec. 14th

IBF # 1 heavyweight Kubrat Pulev, 18-0, will now face Joey Abell, 29-6, on Sauerland´s big show in Neubrandenburg on Saturday December 14. Abell steps in for Sherman "Tank" Williams who withdrew this weekend with injury. Abell, a tall southpaw, is completely different kind of fighter than the stocky Williams stylewise but Pulev is confident of victory anyway. [Click Here To Read More]

Total and utter mismatch - A level fighter vs C level fighter. I can't say I blame Pulev though; he's earned a title shot and has been waiting on the sidelines so it's good that he gets to stay busy, however limited Abell is

First it was leapai & could pulev loses his spot too? Imagine if this was abell hitting pulev like this .... Watch entire fight for a chuckle. The short fight has 2 versions merged with a news clip..

Good to see Kubrat is remaining active, rather than sitting around all winter.

Abell is big and can punch, but he has a poor defense so he's going to get hit a lot by the technically-skilled Pulev.

Sad to see that Leapai has leapfrogged Pulev to a Klitschko fight. What the hell is up with the sanctioning bodies?

Pulev needs a good tune-up before Wlad. It's OK keeping busy, but his promoter's need to pull their finger out and match him with someone competitive.

I'm not sure if Leapai has 'leaped' (no pun) over anyone. He's ranked number 1 by the WBO while Pulev is ranked number 1 by the IBF. I think it's a matter of who Wlad wants to face first

The WBO have given K2 30 days to come to an arrangement with Leapai. Its ridiculous if true; Pulev deserves a shot first.

The WBO ordered the fight though and unless Wlad wants to drop the belt, he'll probably fight Leapai next

Im not sold on Pulev nor a particular fan, but its shameful he cant get any of the so called decent opposition to face him. Just another sad symptom of todays sorry heavyweight era.

pulev will ice Minnesota ice quickly. he will get his shot but how long is wladimir going to keep fighting? he is 37 & soon to be married. he doesn't have steward in his corner anymore & he's fought pianeta & povetkin. he looks vulnerable. just my opinion but if he really wanted to fight the best he would vacate the WBO title or ask for an extension & fight pulev. lennox lewis did it twice. no reason for wladimir to give an unworthy challenger a shot at a title. botysov got exposed by a journeyman. pulev should be fighting wlad in the spring not leapai... just my opinion
