I think the only way this fight happens is if GBP makes Lara vs Canelo in March on PPV. I think it will sell pretty good on PPV. If Lara beats Canelo the fans and the media will push for a Mayweather vs Lara fight in Sept with a stacked undercard. Mayweather vs Lara love that match up right now.

It would be an interesting fight and would love to see it. I just don't think it would be that difficult for Mayweather.
Floyd's really not that much quicker, feet wise than Trout at 154. He's a wading fighter at 154. His upper body is still quick, but it's gonna be a battle of foot work. Who can get in and out on the other man?
Lara's reach also plays a huge role, since he's a slickster with that reach.

With that said, Mayweather vs Lara has been a dream fight for me for a couple of years now. Lara is like a southpaw Floyd, but bigger and more powerful, just as accurate, just as fast, a little less defensive but just as elusive with the movement. Reach for Lara is also longer at 75" vs 73", something Floyd had never faced in his career, that I know of. I think only De La Hoya had the same reach as Floyd. But has never been a reach disadvantage, ever. The guy has MW reach. Not even tall Hernandez and Corrales at 5' 11" had a reach advantage, they were around 70 inches but not quite 73 like Floyd.
The only reason I mention reach is because for Floyd and Lara and their styles, reach is very important for potshotting and doing that hit and not get hit style. Wouldn't be easy at all.

I would put a schedule for Lara like this: Molina rematch, Canelo and Mayweather, in that same order.

He made Angulo quit. PEDs/Jake Lamotta version of Angulo.
He out boxed a boxer with a good jab. It was beyond boring, but hey, styles make fights.
P.S. I wanna see Floyd in there with those same guys and please tell me, he has the same success. Make my day.
Guys like Martirosyan don't have a big name, but they're serious dudes that are much bigger than Floyd, and would crack his ****. Trust me. Angulo would just dog his ass.

I don't want to hear this "boxing is a business BS"
Now lara is the best cuz he beat Trout?
