that said, i too was thinking about broner/malignaggi and khan/malignaggi and how much better khan looked against a younger paulie. it sucks he's fallen pretty hard since then, at least imo (hard tough fight vs peterson, tko loss vs garcia, and struggling vs diaz). khan doesn't deserve a mayweather fight at the moment, but if schaefer, floyd, and amir can somehow sell it, more power to him. i would have liked to see him continue to climb the ranks back to the top, like maybe taken this upcoming year to get into a mando spot or something. is khan still with hunter?
I think one of the main reasons some don't think Khan deserves the fight is because he hasn't got one of the abc belts but Khan is a 2-time former world champion. He even became the WBA Super World champion because he defended the title successfully 5 times. If you compare that with some of Floyd's other opponents he is a legitimate opponent (if you're the type of fan who places great emphasis on world titles).
Look at Sharmba Mitchell for example, he was knocked out in 3 rounds by Tsyzu only one year before Floyd fought him - he had only one fight between fighting Tsyzu and fighting Floyd.
Take Victor Ortiz.. he quit against Maidana (a guy Khan beat) only a couple of years before Floyd fought him and when he got in the ring with Floyd he had 2 losses and 2 draws.

No problem with this match-up! Floyd has earned every right to pick his fight. That is EXACTLY what this match-up is. It is not even worth while to discuss the merits of if a fighter earns a fight with Floyd. He picks period. It is a simple question of "Which fight is going to make me the most money at the least amount of risk?"
Khan will come to win and he will come out punching. He has a lot to prove and NOTHING to loose. I still think it will be fun while it lasts.

I don't agree with the reasoning for this post. Khan did not beat an impressive MAB in anyway shape or form, and the fight was stopped on cuts.
He did beat PM and ZJ impressively, and looked good against Maidana (for most of the fight), McCloskey, Kotelnik and Salita.
But he hasn't really looked impressive in his last two outings, and that's what matters at the moment. I've said it before and I'll say it again - Khan has been picked to make Floyd look good. They want a KO. Plus, he brings PPV money from Sky Sports most likely.
What I've also continuously said is that Khan has a style and a fighting heart that makes this fight better than say a Garcia/Alexander fight. Whilst they would probably last the full 12 rounds, their styles are tailor-made for Floyd. Khan's isn't. But he might end of getting stopped - but at least it will be fun as long as it lasts.

Khan got the better results than a lot of other fighters against Judah but lets not excuse how amateurish he looked or how Judah blatantly quit. That to me was one of Khan's worse displays and again he was fortunate enough that Judah, being the mental midget that he is didn't capitalize on Khan's mistakes.
