Comments Thread For: Hearn: Groves To Get a Froch Rematch or Title Shot

Eddie Hearn says he fully expects George Groves' next fight to be for a world title whether that means a rematch with Carl Froch or not.

Groves was controversially stopped in the ninth round of his super-middleweight contest with Carl Froch on Saturday by referee Howard Foster while ahead on all three of the judges' scorecards.

And Hearn, who promotes both fighters, said despite Groves suffering the first defeat of his professional career, he has announced himself as a genuine contender on the world super-middleweight scene. [Click Here To Read More]

    Stieglitz.

Not sure Groves wants that fight, though. He's ducked him once already.

I have a feeling that Groves is going to be a nearly man, never quite getting that world title. Just a feeling though.

Um so Froch says "It's up to my promoter Hearns"

And now Hearns says "Froch will have to decide which fight he wants"

Um ok. So I guess Froch was just trying to puss out when the decision is really up to him if he wants to fight Groves again

... Before the fight I said here that Froch seems bored and unmotivated...
... I was asked just "based on what" I made that statement... "Based on a hunch", I answered... And I wasn't wrong.

Froch doesn't want it with Groves, he took a serious beating and saw the hunger in Groves eyes

Hern doesn't want to lose his cash cow, he knows himself if Forch loses then that's it for him. They want to milk him as much as possible before cashing in.

If he is to fight Groves he better do it ASAP, cuz Groves is only going to get better and Froch is heading for the slide.

There is a new kid on the block and his name is King George

If it's down to Froch it will be Froch v Groves II.

Froch will not duck that fight.

He gets both if Hearn makes it happen.

tbh all Froch fights should be boycotted until the rematch happens.

I hope Groves gets a rematch. He deserves it. However the business of boxing leaves me to believe that Froch will fight a bigger name first, then give Groves the rematch provided Groves does not lose. Should Groves lose, Froch will use that as his excuse not to fight him.
