Comments Thread For: Groves: Carl Froch Will Not Want a Rematch With Me

George Groves doesn't believe that Carl Froch will agree to a rematch following their controversial fight in Manchester.

Froch was floored by the challenger in the opening round but retained his WBA and IBF titles after referee Howard Foster hastily stopped the fight in the ninth.

Groves feels he deserves a rematch after an "unfair and unjust" decision but doubts whether Froch will agree to it.

He told Sky Sports News: "Carl sat down at ringside for his post-fight interview and said 'let's have a rematch' but after watching it back, I think he said it just to get a cheer from the crowd.

Whilst I would always want to know the reason for a split before judging the decision to walk away, I must agree strongly with this. Leaving a kid hanging - which it appears to be case - is a pretty sad state of affairs. It doesn't look good for Booth.

"Of course I'll give George Groves a rematch, it's not my decision to take but I'm happy to give George Groves a rematch. I don't have to convince anybody of that because look at my resume, I fight anybody and everybody. I will fight anyone. I've fought the best of the best. George Groves deserves a rematch, he's proven he belongs"

Does the WBC #1 ranking still remain intact? If so that could be the way forward!

Groves didn't need Adam Booth on Saturday and he won't need him going forward. He can get to the top on his own.

Just like you didn't want a rematch with DeGale or Kenny Anderson

I have to admit i agree, with groves, i saw it in frochs eyes, he doesnt want a rematch and he knows it. Froch your a great fighter but your on the slip now. Groves mentioned a rematch and froch just ignored it and didnt respond at all.
