Early stoppage? Yes. Groves to last another 3 rounds? Doubt it...

I know, and he was throwing back.

What does the ref expect him to do? Throw 15 punches to show he's ok? Meanwhile increasing the chance he'll get hit? It's common sense you lower your punch output when defending.

Anyway, check the gif, Groves threw a couple of punches literally a 1-2 seconds before the stoppage, and they were big punches... don't give me that he wasn't throwing back talk... that's bollocks.

So Froch wasn't hurt at any point after the knockdown? lol the 6th round Froch was getting nailed with rights at will. Looked in worst shape then Groves did at the stoppage.

Froch lucked out, simple as that.

Yes I watched the fight. That stoppage was legit. I am not even a Froch fan in particular.

Froch has a great chin. He takes some monster shots in his fights man

                Can't argue with his heart

Froch ain't hard (at the top level) to outbox. I'm leaning to thinking he may be somewhat of an assh#le outside the ring also, but you can't really fault his heart. That was only the second KD of his career which is remarkable given how much he lets that big chin hang out and the sieve he calls defense.

Froch has an unorthodox, lunging style, long arms and a world class engine - mainly though, he just has this dogged refusal to give in.

At the end of the day he does win fights... the stoppage was absolute garbage, but at the time in the fight I believe Froch was going to win, and I wouldn't have been surprised if the fight hadn't lasted the round.

TBH for me Taylor was the closer fight, though TBF Froch is 4 years older now, and perhaps time is starting to tell..

To insist the stoppage was very poor is absolutely correct.

To insist that Groves would have won without the stoppage is less convincing. He should have been given the opportunity however.

Froch does come across as an arrogant man. A lot of people don't like him, and after his wars they gained respect from his ring performances.

However his post fight interview was bad. I got a point he tried it make that he stuck in there and gave a show. He took some monster shots and never gave up which the fans didn't quite show respect for post fight

Groves was far from out on his feet though, not even close, nobody can say what would've happened, maybe Groves lands a few more combinations and takes Froch out or box the last few rounds and win a decision. People say Froch was going to do this and that before the fight too but it didn't play out that way, Groves got screwed and in a way so did Froch or maybe the ref saved Froch from further embarrassment, the point is, nobody knows and the stoppage was terrible.
