Comments Thread For: Andre Ward: Rodriguez Reckless, Makes Many Mistakes

Andre Ward hopes to make a winning and stylish return to the ring against Edwin Rodriguez this weekend after a 14-month lay-off.

The WBA super-middleweight world champion aims to show there will be no ring rust after being sidelined due to a shoulder injury.

Fighting in front of his native Californian crowd at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, the 29-year-old will be out to impress as he did in overcoming Chad Dawson so comprehensively in his last outing, back in September 2012.

"We're going to execute the gameplan and going to let it unfold - and if it unfolds the way it's supposed to he can definitely be stopped," said Ward.

Andre Ward doesn't even try to hide he fact that he cherry picks his opponents. I hope Rodriguez pull off the upset and knocks him out cold lol.

lol Ward is fighting the undefeated and somewhere in the top 10 in the division coming off of a year layoff and an injury is a cherry pick.

Not a cherrypick, but the truth is that he had nowhere to go. He wanted to fight an easy opponent on HBO and HBO refused to do it, so he was forced to fight Edwin.

His other option was Froch in England and he didn't want to go there.
