    sparring partner

Devon should respect sparring partners. Many sparring partners went on to be great champions aka Larry Holmes.

Also, Kenny Norton was Joe Frazier's sparring partner. Then he got that fight with Ali.

Porter was one of my favorite prospects and I've been following Devon for a minute. With the amount of hate Devon gets I just can't pull against him though. I want him to keep winning and stay in the mix.
to what end? he won't get a fight with Floyd. Floyd doesn't fight black guys anymore, besides a well known (and old, off steroids) Mosley.

I just mean stay in the top 5. There are other good fights out there other than Floyd. Garcia moving up, Ortiz, Guerrero, Thurman, Judah/Malignaggi winner, etc.

This is one hell of a fight on one hell of a card!!! I can't wait!!! I give the edge to Porter. I've seen both guys in person in separate bouts and was more impressed with Porter. This kid has a very bright future. Next to Bradley, he will be Devon's toughest opponent. I don't think Devon is as effective fighting opponents with good speed. Well Shawn has fast hands and fast feet. He can box and slug it out. Devon has fought the better quality of competition and has more championship rounds under his belt. That make it very interesting. I think this fight will outshine the entire card. Its going to be explosive. It won't be an all out brawl, but it will be a combination of skill, speed, and determination on the highest level.

This welterwight class is awesome and deep. You have Porter, Alexander, Broner, Bradley, Thurman, Khan, Rios, Pacquiao, and Floyd. The sad thing is...Floyd will probably never fight any of them with the exception of Khan, who is not deserving at this point.

I like Porter's chances here, he can be quite physical and will be shorter than Devon..any dustups inside, he will be in there being tougher and able to grind action out more than Devon will be willing to down the stretch. Devon will have to dig deep imo and that is something he still needs to show people. Porter has gotten better at keeping distance and not smothering combos as well, but Devon should still have plenty of advantages from that range it seems. It's just that Porter has a way of making fights turn into his type of style so I think it will turn into a grinding fight hopefully

Porter is an overrated bum. He's not even better than Randall bailey, and Marcos Maidana. Both guys were defeated by Alexander the Great.
