Comments Thread For: Curtis Stevens: I Have Nothing To Be Ashamed Of!

Middleweight contender Curtis Stevens (25-4, 18KOs) made it a real fight when he tangled with WBA/IBO champion Gennady Golovkin (28-0, 25KOs) on Saturday night at the Theater in New York's Madison Square Garden. After starting well and then getting dropped hard in the second round, Stevens was able to recover and had his moments before fading down the stretch. Stevens' corner stopped the fight at the end of eight.

Show a little more humility in the future and don't think your "monstrous power" is going to win you every fight. I was impressed with Stevens' effort though. Better than I thought he would be, but still totally outclassed.

For a guy with so much power, staying covered up for 90% of the fight?

Stevens was worried about not getting KO'd, he threw as many punches as golovkin landed

You need to go out fighting

Based solely off of Steven's performance, he's correct but considering all the sh.t he talked, he does have a bit to be embarrassed about.

Okay he's getting a lot of hate on here for the pre-fight antics, but I was hugely impressed how he came back from the knockdown. That was a KO for most other MWs but he somehow survived, showed great defence to get through the next round and then started to come back impressively in R4.
