Comments Thread For: Team Canelo Want Big Names For Three PPV Bouts

Jose 'Chepo' Reynoso, the manager of former champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-1-1, 30KOs), sees no problem with his boxer being showcased on Showtime pay-per-view for a total of three times in 2014. It was recently announced by Canelo that Golden Boy Promotions has scheduled three dates for him - March 8, July 26 and November 22. All three of bouts will be on Showtime Pay-Per-View. Canelo will return from his first loss, a twelve round majority decision to Floyd Mayweather Jr. on September 14.

Who is he going to fight if HBO made Martinez vs Cotto?

Lara is too high risk and hard to sell. Poor Schaefer.

I think logically HBO should focus on making Martinez-Golovkin and Showtime should focus on trying to get Canelo-Cotto together.

why cant we see canelo on may? put canelo in with cotto or angulo and a good stacked card with broner or thurman on the undercard and it should sell good.

Cotto, Sergio Martinez & GGG; There's Your Big 3!!!

I've been saying this for months. GGG will blow out Stevens tonight. Line up and beat Cotto, Sergio & GGG then you are the man!!! Then take out pot smoking Chavez Jr, and you take on Andre Ward. There is enough meat on Canelo's menu that should give him every opportunity to be the big man on campus. There will always be someone that comes along for a challenge. But if you post convincing wins over Cotto, Sergio, Gennady,Chavez Jr and Ward, you enter the Hall of Fame. No reason to look to any other fights; those fights keep you busy thru 2015, and a LOT of money is made.

                    I'm thinking

                    1st will be Victor Oritz

                    followed by Alfredo Angulo

                    and Mayweather rematch

I don't see him fighting Lara or Molina because they are hard to look good against.

outside of that what does Showtime have??

                    Martinez is under contract
Cotto is saying he wants to end his career with Top Rank

GGG maybe but I doubt it. K2 seems to be happy with HBO
