There shouldn't be one person who doesn't agree with that.

Sorry I hold high expectations for the fighter of the decade.
So in other words had Clottey beat a c-level fighter and then fought Pacquiao and lost it would've been ok? Same for Margarito? Same for Mosley? So pretty much let your opponent fight a c-level fighter and then you'll get praise for beating them? like Ortiz and Guerrero who beat C-Level Berto and got a Floyd fight? Let's be honest Clottey, margarito and Mosley all lost to A-class fighters. Let's be perfectly honest, we've been too pampered by Floyd's "O" and because he's fighting winning guys..but let's equate the wins of many of these guys and it means jack shh..beating Berto is no awesome feat. That isn't to take anything from Floyd for beating both Ortiz and Guerrero but they weren't the best opponents out there for him either. Marketing does wonders for the image of the value of a bout.

I was just replying to the guy saying pacs resume was overrated in a blanket statement. No one should disagree but apparently some do especially on a board where somehow you can claim pac and floyd the two best of the generation have awful resumes....because apparently they both started their careers at WW according to some people.

Chalk that up to folks who started really following the sport in 2007 and there after..

I can respect people's opinions even when I don't agree with it, just like I can respect someone for saying "I don't like manny" or "i don't like floyd" but when they go the route of "he's a bum", "he ain't worthy", "he's all hype" I can't respect it...these men are all boxers..it takes hugeeee balls to hop into a ring and risk life and limb..all it takes is one perfectly placed shot to kill you in a fight.
I agree 100%, but unfortunately trolls are gonna troll, man. You can be a nut hugging fan boy when you do that stuff, but you should never call yourself a fan of boxing itself.

The comments about cherry picking and then actually stating that Pac hasn't done anything in four years are just ridiculous. Hell, FMJr just admitted to hand picking opponents in pre Canelo press conferences, but that doesn't diminish his talent. It's a part boxing. I guess no great fighter in the history of the sport has never ever even fought a tune up. I guess Bradley and Marquez don't count as opponents anymore.

I don't see Rios as a stepping stone. That dude is balls out tough, with power and he will fight. This is pretty much a litmus test for Pacquiao. If he looks good he's still good, and if he's doesn't he shouldn't be considered what he once was considered.

See I made a point about a fight in the sport of boxing, without putting down anyone of the fighters I mentioned.

              so?

Margaritgo was taller than Pac and outweighed Pac by 15 lbs, and Pac beat him to a pulp. Good luck Brandon.

I call those people naive, i've seen enough lopsided underdogs end up the winner in bouts..even cherry picking doesn't guarantee you a win..nothing in life is guaranteed and on any given night a man can be at his best after an entire life of being god awful. Matter of fact Ward was supposed to be a cherrypick for Gatti and what we got was a classic trilogy people still hold in high regard.

Isn't that what Cotto did to get the fight in 2009? It's currently Pac's best win at WW.

Fighting Clottey, Margarito and Mosley when Pac did was completely irrelevant. Pac originally ducked "too good" Mosley when it mattered. Clottey's last win was vs Judah. Margarito had just been suspended for attempting to cheat and KO'ed by Mosley. He was done.

Nothing impressive at all since 2009 unless you want to talk about Pac fighting guys who didn't campaign at WW. In which becomes a huge topic if it was Mayweather fighting guys that never won a fight at WW. See the JMM and possible Khan fight.

Pac's not as bloated and heavy as before. Usually means he's cycling off the dope - good for him

true, but Pac was on those Ariza Hulk shakes at the time.
