Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City - IBF light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins (54-6-2, 32 KOs) grabbed a twelve round unanimous decision over mandatory challenger Karo Murat (25-2-1, 15 KOs). The 48-year-old Hopkins was no longer the calm, defensive boxer with a bag of dirty tricks. Instead he made it a war and was happy to exchange in toe to toe fashion with Murat. The scores were 117-110, 119-108, 119-108.
WBO middleweight champion Peter Quillin (30-0, 22 KOs) was able to secure a tenth round stoppage of Gabriel Rosado (21-7, 13 KOs). Quillin dropped Rosado in the second round and appeared to be on his way to a big win, but then Rosado stunned him in the fourth and began to press, and land, on the champion. During the ninth round, Quillin threw a hard jab that opened a horrible cut on Rosado's left eyelid. Early in the tenth, as the cut opened wider, the ringside doctor would not allow Rosado to continue. [Click Here To Read More]
