He did quit but it was the right thing to do

You can hear him say "Stop it" to his corner right before Weeks came over

No shame in what happened. He's a warrior no matter what. He was beat that night and he knew it,He wasn't gonna win and coulda seriously been hurt. The ref knew it too . He'll be back to give us another war cause that's what he does.....

His trainer asked him if he had anything left and he replied," I got nothing left". From now on I will know him as Mike "I got nothing left" Alvarado. Dude got on my nerves when he complained of a bad stoppage in the first fight with Rios. I want to see Rios VS Provodnikov, those two don't back up!

Alvarado channeled his inner boricua last night, quitting in his own hometown.

You can call him that if you want because that is what he did but it really isn't even that big a deal because if you are done you are done holding out will only make it worse.
Because the word quitter has a negative connotation to it.
Yea, he quit... but he put up a great performance an said he can't go on anymore. He met his limit an did as much as he could.

People are very romantic with their idea of what a fighter should be, so yea getting made to say uncle is not a good look in that idealistic way.

Really he just got beat by a better man that night there really shouldn't be much shame in that

He took a vicious beating and he was out on his feet as the round ended. There's no need for him to wind up dead or punch drunk; it's still a sport and not worth dying for.

                  Fixed it for you.

Unless Castillo, Ortiz, Oscar De La Hoya, Israel Vasquez, Raul Marquez, Julio C Chavez Sr, Tony Ayala Jr., Julio Diaz, Marco Antonio Rubio, and Angulo are all Boricuas.

Not sure why anyone would diss him for the stoppage. He is a pro. He makes his living boxing.... and if you aren't winning the fight and have no chance to win, it's better to fight another day. I guess some here don't understand that.

Alvarado's a bad dude, and he gave it his all, but just on basic principle I'm gonna have to call you a bunch of hypocrites

Dlhya/Ortiz/Cotto(before we found about the plaster) are quitters, but Alvarado gets a pass because he was looking out for his health???

Is this some elaborate scheme to mind **** me?
