It's hard to be the real champion of anything when you simply don't fight.

Blame the promoters all you want, but Gamboa is responsible for his lack of fighting and lack of fame. True Bob Arum let the Lopez fight marinate a bit too long, but no one was expecting Juanma to get KO'd by Salido. That was a huge upset at the time. He then bailed on big money fight vs Rios, to try to leave Top Rank while still under contract.

He fought over his contract until Bob finally let him go, he signed with the very inexperience 50 cent, and has pretty much been a blur since.

He will never again have the career he could have had. 50 isn't a good boxing promoter.

How is he done? He lost to Micky Garcia who is a p4p superstar. Other than that he's KO'd Juanma twice, KO'd 4 other opponents including Cruz. How is he done?

Or are you just butt hurt?

Even if he loses to Lomachenko, I don't think he's done. Salido gives just about anyone a run for their money IMO

Sureeeee even tho he was never the champ at 126 nor did he ever beat the #2 fighter at 126

He was as much the champ of 126 as berto was of 147

True, but also Gamboa can't make 126 anymore. Hell he's fighting at 135 now

Not fair, he did win a vacant belt, but Salido should have been a unification. He was the top guy at 126 for a bit, but he's left that weight class long ago
