Comments Thread For: Arum: Bradley-Marquez Was Close, 115-113 Either Way

Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas - On Saturday night, WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (31-0-1, 12KOs) boxed his way to a twelve round split decision victory over former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez (55-7-1, 40KOs). The scores were 115-113 for Marquez, 115-113 for Bradley, 116-112 for Bradley.

Following the contest, Marquez complained that he was robbed of a championship winning decision and proclaimed that he needs a knockout in order to secure a victory in Las Vegas. On the other hand, Bradley felt he gave Marquez a "boxing lesson."

I have the same score. 117-111 for Bradley.
Rounds 1,4 and 10 were very close. Pick'em rounds.
I gave Round 1 for Marquez and Rounds 4 and 10 for Bradley.

It really surprise me the way Marquez says he was robbed. He's such a bad loser and a bad winner too. Every close fight he loses, "he was robbed". Bradley fought a brilliant fight...He sticked to the game plan and won a clear UD. Period.

        Lot of respect for Bradley!

116-112 Bradley. Marquez fought hard but his legs were not the same. Age was a factor. This fight did not hurt Marquez's legacy but Bradley's stock went sky high. I want to see a rematch between Pacman and Bradley if Manny gets past Rios. Big money fight for Tim.

I had Bradley winning by 1 point but by the end of the fight, I no longer cared who got the decision -- Bradley was so damn cautious and 'strategic' that I spent most of the night screaming at him to DO SOMETHING! -- Marquez looked old and clueless most of the time -- Bradley's corner did him no favor in telling him after each dreary, mostly actionless round, how much he was winning and how great he was doing....

Promoter Arum got his thinking cap on he will try to cash out Marquez on a 5th fight with Pacquiao i think this is a big indication of that.
