Martinez would indefinitely retire Miguel Cotto. I don't care how Martinez looked in his last fight. Cotto would get knocked out and carried out on a stretcher. Bad fight for Cotto. Would be no way he could hurt Martinez and the fact he takes flush bombs when he fights wouldn't help much either. Canelo fight is better for Cotto. I still think Canelo would beat him but would be more competitive.

Arum is a delusional old fart. He says Canelo is a free agent, which Canelo, himself, said was false. Meanwhile, Cotto is the one who really is a free agent. Arum forgot to take his memory pills. ****in' sad.

Arum wants Cotto-Canelo as co-feature on a Zhou Shiming card, in Macau.

          Smh.......

You are disrespecting Cotto a bit too much here. Last time I checked, Martinez isn't a hall of famer and Cotto is. Smh. Has Cotto EVER been stretched out? Exactly. Martinez is finished and damaged goods at this point. He may have beaten Chavez but Chavez got the glory in that fight. He injured Martinez for the rest of his career. Cotto's defense is good now. He hasn't been cut in over 6-7 fights, due in part to the great E.S. who told him if he got cut again, his career could be over. Cotto agreed and has tightened up his defense every since. Cotto can beat Martinez at 154. Of course non of this matters unless he wins and wins impressively tonight so stay tuned!

A very sad truth to an ugly reality.

I like cotto to, but let's call a spade a spade he's past it and is flirting with gatekeeper status. And this is coming from a staunch supporter.

Saul Alvarez is not a free agent. He's signed still to Golden Boy
Promotions and Canelo Promotions. In any case Cotto v Alvarez
can be made however, it would be up to the highest purse that
would win the rights to promote the fight. For example, Vanes
Martirosyan-Erislandy Lara WBC Jr. Middleweight Eliminator bout
from last November 2012 was promoted by Golden Boy Promotions
because they won the purse bid, Erislandy Lara is signed with GBP
and Vanes Martirosyan's signed to Top Rank Boxing. I'm interested
in seeing the much anticipated match up between Sergio Martinez
vs. Miguel Cotto at Middleweight, this bout was actually proposed
for March of 2011 however, Top Rank at the time made a very low
offer to Lou DiBella and Sergio Martinez I think it was like 70/30 the
higher percentage of the purse going to Miguel Cotto and no wonder
Sergio's promoter Lou DiBella turned the offer down and Cotto ended
up fighting with Ricardo Mayorga on Showtime pay per view instead.
Sergio Martinez vs. Miguel Cotto should happen in early 2014 for sure.
