Comments Thread For: Chavez Jr. Eyes Froch, Ward, Canelo and Martinez Bouts

The son of the legend, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (46-1-1, 32 KOs), is hoping to get some very big fights after Saturday's match against Brian Vera (23-6, 14 KOs), which takes place at the Stubhub Center in Carson, California. The fight is going to take place at a max weight of 173-pounds. Chavez last fought at the middleweight limit of 160-pounds, where he suffered his first career defeat against Sergio Martinez last September in Las Vegas. While his next fight is almost two divisions above the middleweight limit, and he had issues making 168, Chavez would be willing to make 160 again for two major fights - a rematch with Martinez and a grudge match with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

He wouldn't make weight for any of those opponents.

Chavez Jr. is a good boxer, say no mas to pot.

Stay off the drugs and train cabron (motherf*****). Fighting Froch to start off would be awesome. Get serious and train your a$$ off. You can beat Martinez if you let your hands go, early. As of beating Ward, I don't think so, Canelo Don't know, hmm... but would be very interesting, especially for Mexico.

Chavez Jr. vs. Ward would be a very funny sight indeed.

Chavez Jr is delusional. And he doesn't deserve any of those fights.

I think Chavez knows his 160 days are over. He needs to move to 168 and go after Bika to try and get a belt. Then he can challenge Ward or Froch. A fight with Marco Antonio Periban would be good as well. Chavez needs to be dedicated and focused when he moves to 168 though or he will be in for a rude awakening.

It's funny how Andre Ward is beasting to fight Jr on what he thinks would be a huge ppv. He better the think that. Jr has only sold 3k measly tickets for the fight so he's drawing power is shot and almost everyone thinks this kid is a joke.
