Fail completely how in the **** is this fight even remotely right ? Floyd who on the day of the fight awoke that morning weight 149 and had to eat stake, potatoes, for breakfast to maintain his 150 weight .. How in the hell does he fight at 160 at the age of 36.

Sturm wouldn't fight him (he was a champion, but I don't know what you mean by 'top guy'), Martinez' management doesn't want to put him in there against him, N'Jikam ran, Geale/Barker didn't seem to want him, etc.

Golovkin went something like 345-5 in the amateurs and it would be ridiculous to write off his pro career given that he has dominated pretty much all of his opponents. How does all of this make him a bum?

I s Canelo a 'top guy' Golovkin should target? Do you think Canelo would fight him?

I'm also of the opinion Golovkin will move up soon if fights with the top guys at MW cannot be in the near future.

as of right now, GGG brings nothing to the table ... no legit straps, no lineage, and no $$$

Canelo, the guy who won 2/3 of his titles vacant, beat an old Mosley and had an extremely close fight where he looked average vs Trout (who was his only recent challenge)? Or the Canelo who couldn't finish Mathew Hatton?

Canelo is the same guy that LOTS and LOTS of fans thought would be the first boxer to beat Floyd. Even said Flöyd would never take this fight in the first place. The risk/reward ratio of this historic/legacy fight is just too tuff to deny. It is the biggest box-office bout other than Pacquiao and HBO wouldn't have a comparable PPV to offer Martinez so the courts wouldn't hold him to that exclusive contract in lieu of the financial prognosis of the revenues created by the aforementioned event (gold mine). There is PLENTY of $$$ for all parties concerned for a joint venture ala Lewis vs Tyson.

GGG doesn't have the mainstream sports presence of Sergio who has been covered for years by ESPN and CNN/SI as both the true world champion and top title contender.

Sergio is seemingly on his last legs and deserves this mega-fight which HBO cannot even begin to compete with financially. If Mayweather Promotions writes the aforementioned deal . . . Team Martinez jumps all over it; HBO be damned.
