Sturm wouldn't fight him (he was a champion, but I don't know what you mean by 'top guy'), Martinez' management doesn't want to put him in there against him, N'Jikam ran, Geale/Barker didn't seem to want him, etc.

Golovkin went something like 345-5 in the amateurs and it would be ridiculous to write off his pro career given that he has dominated pretty much all of his opponents. How does all of this make him a bum?

I s Canelo a 'top guy' Golovkin should target? Do you think Canelo would fight him?

I'm also of the opinion Golovkin will move up soon if fights with the top guys at MW cannot be in the near future.

as of right now, GGG brings nothing to the table ... no legit straps, no lineage, and no $$$

a fight for floyd @ 160 would be about making history, GGG doesnt add to that
Hmmmmmmmm mang, GGG has the best Middleweight KO record in the history of boxing and you say he don't bring nothin to the nice table ? He has the WBA strap and should be fighting Sergio Martinez next year which will add the lineal title.

I hope GGG gets to SM before JR, because Jr will beat hands down SM. Sergio is on his way out, Jr should have fought him 4 years ago or even two years ago. GGG is young and the best, Jr can then whup him warm up them ears with lefts and rights and become the GREATEST EVER

Canelo didn't work out for you, plan B (Mathysse) didn't work for you; I guess Golovkin is the only one left. Canelo is the same guy that LOTS and LOTS of fans thought would be the first boxer to beat Floyd. Even said Flöyd would never take this fight in the first place. Now when he schooled Canelo people like you claim Canelo was basically a hand picked easy opponent. Some of you will never give Floyd any credit no matter who he fights.

I am with ya mang, I despise bullys, dealt with them during my childhood. I never liked anyone picking on smaller men or wee little men and cheating on them after he chose them. Hate THAT !!!!!

I do want to see JR go take care of the Bully GGG for the most GLORIOUS FIGHT POSSIBLE TODAY outside of a Pacman that has come back.

You my not have had but I have had enough of that.

JR can hang with anyweight, and we need to see HBO put GGG vs SM next year providing GGG gets by Curtis

                      then

FOR GLORY,, For the Greatest show on earth,,,,SIZE don't matter , SKILLS PAYS the BILLS,,,For the greatest title on EArth, for the most MONEY ever made in a boxing ring , match or pit JR the AWESOME against poor ole GGG and we will see a fight
Mayweather vs Martinez PPV at 156lbs catchweight - You G*D D*MN RIGHT!!!!

The risk/reward ratio of this historic/legacy fight is just too tuff to deny. It is the biggest box-office bout other than Pacquiao and HBO wouldn't have a comparable PPV to offer Martinez so the courts wouldn't hold him to that exclusive contract in lieu of the financial prognosis of the revenues created by the aforementioned event (gold mine). There is PLENTY of $$$ for all parties concerned for a joint venture ala Lewis vs Tyson.

GGG doesn't have the mainstream sports presence of Sergio who has been covered for years by ESPN and CNN/SI as both the true world champion and top title contender.

Sergio is seemingly on his last legs and deserves this mega-fight which HBO cannot even begin to compete with financially. If Mayweather Promotions writes the aforementioned deal . . . Team Martinez jumps all over it; HBO be damned.
