well as much as I would cream my pants for floyd to go to 160 and step in the ring with GGG I wouldn't blame him in the least for not doing it. I mean where do you draw the line? He is the best 140 - 154 ... no doubt about it, nobody can beat him there. I don't see what moving up and getting put to sleep by GGG would do for his legacy. I mean if he thought he could actually do it then all the Kudos in the world to him but I think it's too much to ask, he ain't superman. And the thing is I wouldn't really be that keen on GGG coming down to 154 either, i dunno I just don't wanna see weight draining involved, I just don't think the fight can be made fairly ... either floyd is at a massive disadvantage and will get ****d or GGG is a walking skeleton and won't be able to do jack.

Size, weight, power, simply too much.

i mean, what happens if he somehow survives? Ward? a Klitchsko?

If Floyd is gonna lose, it should be the right way, not like this.

I agree it's fine if Floyd doesn't fight GGG, but GGG has offered to drop down to 154 for the fight (maybe even 152). He's about the same size as Canelo in terms of weight and looks to definitely be one of the biggest if not the biggest threat to Floyd out there that is a somewhat realistic possibility. I would certainly appreciate it if Floyd took on the challenge.

I think GGG is going to move up (possibly move down if the opportunity is good enough) soon if Quillin and Martinez don't bite. I suppose he could fight Murray if he gets by Stevens, but fighting some SMWs may make sense as well since he may get more takers at that weight class and HBO has expressed their desire to set up a Ward-Golovkin clash. Golovkin, like Floyd at 147, would actually be fairly small for SMW though unless he puts on some extra weight.

Hopefully floyd jr. frames the dicsussion in terms of being lineal in 3 weight classes and what that would ean historically. I think floyd, given the big number he and canelo did, can use his influence (maybe even the "out clause" reportedly in his contract) to get sho/HBO to work together to make this happen.
        Thats just Jr's daddy talking.

Jr ain't gonna git hurt mang, he will buzzzzzzzz all about GGG and warm up that head

Lets be real ! GGG and SM are with HBO.

LET those fighters sort out who is who after GGG fights and KO's Curtis, of course if he gets KO'd its all over

        but

When GGG and SM sort out who is who and that will be GGG KOing SM

        then

match JR the AWESOME GREATEST OF ALL TIME agin pooor whupped dog GGG

        Twill be gooooooooooooooddddddddd

There's always the possibility Golovkin would be sluggish at 154 (the risk is much higher for Hopkins dropping down to 160 today), but I'd rather see that than assured victories for Floyd at 147. I think it would be interesting and I think Golovkin would press the action. It has a chance to be more interesting than many of Floyd's previous fights.

WhY ? thats not the fight anymore,,,,,YOU know JR has NOT responded to the challenges over the past 4 years by Martinez so why now ???? Because he is ripe for the picking ? Haven't we had enough of that ??????

You my not have had but I have had enough of that.

JR can hang with anyweight, and we need to see HBO put GGG vs SM next year providing GGG gets by Curtis

            then

FOR GLORY,, For the Greatest show on earth,,,,SIZE don't matter , SKILLS PAYS the BILLS,,,For the greatest title on EArth, for the most MONEY ever made in a boxing ring , match or pit JR the AWESOME against poor ole GGG and we will see a fight

what's up with this article though...floyd sr doesn't even mention ggg

he was just asked if there would be any chance of floyd fighting at 160 and he gave the same answer he always does: "jr is too small and has no business fighting middleweights"

i knew mayweather would find a reason to duck ggg !!!!! the fact is if ggg can manke 154 , and i think he can !!! then mayweather should fight him if he is the so called p4p best fighter in the world !!!!! but we all know , well unbiased boxing fans like me ... all know mayweather only likes fighing people like alexander , ortiz , guerro , and hype jobs like alverez !!!!!

The author says he asked about the possibility of going up MW to fight guys like Martinez or Golovkin. He wasn't mentioned directly by Floyd Sr. I would point out that Golovkin has offered to fight Floyd below 160 (at least 154).

Lets be completely honest here, even if Floyd was a natural 160 pounder, there's no way in hell he would fight GGG anyway so there's no point even contemplating it.

Btw, please can all you Floyd d*ck riders not respond calling me a hater, I think Floyd is one of the most skilled fighters ever to put on a pair of gloves but he doesn't do risky fights, I know it, you know it, everyone knows it.
