Nonsense...Mayweather can only counter punch like any other fighter? That is one of the most ridiculous things I have read on here.

He couldn't lay a glove on Mayweather because the difference in skill level was clearly massive. Everything JMM is does well, Mayweather does better. Better timing, better counters, higher IQ... JMM gets a boxing lesson from Mayweather at any weight, why do you think he wanted no part of a rematch after the Pac KO?

JMM has fought Pac 4 times, landed how many great counters and got no reaction? You make it sound like every counter he throws is a KO punch. The KO was a great shot, but a one off after 40+ rounds.

Having more power doesn't make someone a better puncher either, simply a harder punch.

I disagree. Man I can't believe you're forcing me to back JMM over my man Floyd in this. I think you're trying to debate that Money is better over-all in boxing compared to Money May. If that's the case, then hell yeah without a doubt. Mayweather may even be a better offensive fighter than Pacquiao if you're counting accuracy. But you're missing the big picture.

Look back at JMM's history, most of his wins & finish came through because of counter-punching. Sure he may not be undefeated which is a good case to say the Money is better in anything, but the skill that comes with poer is what makes him better than Floyd. Like I mentioned before. Anyone can counter-punch. I don't see any difference in Mayweather's counter punches from any other boxer's out there with the exception that his speed magnifies his counter compared to others.

But I never seen Floyd having to save himself through counter-punch, because he hardly gets into that situation because Money hits & dodge. That's where most of Mayweather's win come from. Compilation of points through jab & being elusive. Sure every now and then you'll see a slick counter from Floyd, like every now & then you'll see a slick counter from any other fights from any fighter. But watch JMM's fight, counter-punches comes in volume and with accuracy & power. That's why JMM is a counter-punching specialist.

You could also say Money is better offensively than Pac, but he doesn't use offense to get a win, he uses defense. While Pac on the other, what can I say, everybody knows what Pac can do offensively.

It's about using your strength. Mayweather is not known as a counter-puncher. He is known as a defensive fighter, everyone knows that. That's because counter-punching he may be good at, but it's not his thing in boxing. You get what I'm trying to say?

Check out the video for Money: Tell me if he's a counter-puncher or not. His best counter is coming off a shoulder roll defense, with a straight jab, but defense set that up. He hardly throws punches going back.



Check out the video of JMM: His counter-punch comes in volumes, while backing up, and with power.



Styles make fights, and it's one reason why JMM is Pacquiao's hardest opponent. A good offense was countered with a good counter-punch. Pacquiao won't have a hard time against Floyd unlike with JMM. Sure Floyd will beat Pac, but he won't be his hardest opponent.
