That's funny...when its other fighters who fight in X division on Friday but gain 20-30 pounds by Saturday its all,

    "Black eye for boxing"
"They should fight at a higher weight class"
"I wish same day weigh ins were still a thing"

Bbut when Floyd says it, all the sudden he's gone too far.

Cant wait til Sat. Canelo needs to quit crying. All this catchweight crap and weigh in crap is not really an issue. Ultimately Canelo signed the contract so 1 he wants his biggest payday ever and #2 he actually thinks he can beat Floyd. So quit crying, get your payday and get schooled like the previous 44 did!

Take your pick, catchweight or rehydration. Don't try for both and then lie and say Alvarez wanted the catchweight, not you.
I agree with all of that, but my thing is what effect does this have on the fight night?? Is the rehydration clause in effect??

If not why is all of this being mentioned?? I always thought of Canelo as a MENTALLY sounded opponent not weak minded like a Ortiz or Judah, but it looks as if the opponent HIMSELF in Canelo is getting ready to make excuses in case he loses.

I'm actually less excited about this fight now, because it seems that one man has already admitted defeat.

alvared is making complaintsencase he loses. he won't fight anybody legit in his own division. but he's crying about weight clauses and catch weight. does he not understand that he fights at 154,and mayweather is a natural 140 pounder that fights at 147 and really didn't have to fight his ass.quit crying.

I don't really understand why people are feeling sorry for Canelo, these hoops wouldn't exist for him to jump through if he'd just fight a Jr. Middleweight. I find it funny that most of the flack falls on Mayweather shoulders when he is moving up 5lbs above his natural weight, people would have complained to no ends if he didn't fight a guy that will outweigh him by close to 20lb on the night of the fight, a difference of 3 weight classes.

He wont seem like anything close to a coward, for weight negotiating for a fight he is currently fighting in 2 days. You should have made this comment, if the fight DIDNT happen, and it was because of weight. Either way, I CANT WAIT NICKAHH!!!!

What exactly did Ellerbe lie about? The whole catchweight issue? The very site that you're commenting on published the article guy. Canelo made the statement that he'd come in at 150 to fight Mayweather. You're on the site, look it up.

It's being mentioned because Ellerbe brought it up and said Alvarez wanted the catchweight. Alvarez is talking about it now because Ellerbe lied about it. He said as much if I remember.

And the catchweight was always going to be the excuse, no matter whether Alvarez is effected or not. Hell, Mayweather gave him one on video when he said Cotto is undefeated because he was beaten at a catchweight.
