Comments Thread For: Rios Expects To Be Stronger, Around 150 For Pacquiao

Brandon Rios (31-1-1, 23KOs) expects to have most of the physical advantages when he steps in the ring with eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38KOs) on November 23rd in Macau, China. Rios is moving to to 147-pounds to take the fight, a quick move after recently jumping to junior welterweight two fights ago. But Pacquiao is a small welterweight and rarely weighs in at the fulll welterweight limit.

And I expect Pacquiao to be back on the juice. I don't trust the testing that is done in third world countries [no matter if it's VADA or USADA]. There are lots of shady things that happen in third world countries, I.E., Caro Quintero's release from prison a few days ago. Therefore, I see no reason why Pacquiao's team wouldn't be able to cheat on the tests. After all, his career is on the line here!

Being Heavier Doesn't ALWAYS Translate To Being Stronger!

It's not like Rios has cat-like reflexes and or hand speed, or swift a foot. He's not going to be any stronger than he was for two fights, of which he won one, and lost one to Mike Alvarado, a B-level fight at best. Rios still leads with his chin, throws wild hooks, stands straight up and down, takes a lot of punches, and is implying he won't have to work much to lose weight.... the point is he will be heavier, and softer... softer and less conditioned. Bradley training for Marquez is bloated, softer, clearly heavier than previous fights, as he tries to lean down for fight night, but he won't be hitting any harder. Neither will Rios. Pacquiao has never lost his hand speed, has great combinations that will pale in comparison to the lack of hand speed Alvarado had. And Pacquiao creates a lot of power with his hand speed, which is why he destroyed physically much larger Margarito, Clottey, Cotto, and turn the lights out in 2 on Hatton who was equal in size. Rios is introuble. He will look like Vinnie Pazienza trying to eat thru punch after punch to land his one wild hook, and get his face busted up to shreds....
