Comments Thread For: Leo Santa Cruz: I Would Break Rigondeaux Down Late

Former bantamweight champion Leo Santa Cruz (24-0-1) is just days away from facing WBC junior featherweight champion Victor Terrazas (37-2-1). Santa Cruz feels blessed to be in the position that he is in and on a recent edition of BoxingScene Radio, said that winning a second world title would be a dream come true.

"To be a two-division champion at such a young age is a dream come true. Terrazas is a good fighter who came up the hard way. He likes to come right at you so it should be a good fight," stated the 25-year-old Santa Cruz.

We also asked Santa Cruz about potentially facing WBA/WBO super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux in the future. Rigondeaux is regarded as the best fighter in the division but Santa Cruz isn't too excited by the Cuban's defensive style. [Click Here To Read More]

I can't say he won't. Anything can happen.

Unfortunately there's an invisible wall in between both fighters so we'll never know.

My opinion, he feels Rigo's power and then doesn't pressure and is more cautious with the 100000000 punches he throws.

Rigondeaux's footwork and movement would be way too much for Santa Cruz, Guevara was having success with Santa Cruz FFS.

See my last paragraph. I don't think he would beat Rigo either but this IS boxing. Anything can happen and until they fight, which they never will, nothing is for sure.

Fan of both but I feel Rigo would look 10X more spectacular against Leo than he did against Donaire. Now that's something I'd love to see

Terrazas is not a fighter Cruz wants to look past.

                  Naaaaaahhhhh.

Santa Cruz is cool shit and all, but Rigo would whack him hard to the body as soon as he'd come in carefree as he does. I tell ya, Rigo's been holding back on those savage one-punch KO body shots for a while now - when he next decides it's time to unleash one at the right time, tremors will be felt on Earth. :box2:

How quickly people forget that Rigo has been caught and rocked by a journeyman.

He's looked bad against far worse competition than Santa Cruz.

I think this is a toss-up if Santa Cruz comes in with a good game plan.
