How could Kovalev live with himself and keep fighting? Could you?

The guy is a beast, he knocks out almost everyone he faces and killed one of his opponents. Since Roman Simakov died after fighting him, Kovalev has continued to stop all of his opponents, he has fought four times since then and all he won by TKO.

Knowing he has that concussive KO power, don't you think it'd be in his head that what if he did it again? The chances are that he prob. wont do it again, but you never know, and that thought has to be somewhere in the back of his mind.

I would think after a tradgedy like that happened many boxers would quit. How about you guys, if you were in Kovalev's shoes, could you continue boxing and continue knocking guys out? How would you feel?

    I didn't know that.

    But they know the risk.

Thats easy to say, but would you walk away from your bread wining profession after a tragic accident? Besides Kovalev did say in an interview he did not want to fight for sometime after that fight.

Barry McGuigan had an opponent die after their bout.

He went on to stop his next 13 opponents. The 14th was Juan LaPorte.

It messed with Jesus Chavez really bad and I'm sure it screws up most, but its all they know and their only way of making a living. Boxing is a brutal, tragic horrible sport sometimes...all for our entertainment and watching pleasure.

Even though his opponent didn't die, Chris Eubank was never the same fighter after what he did to Michael Watson.

In my humble opinion he pulled his punches somewhat after that.

I know his opposition was improved but he had stopped 16 of his last 22 opponents before Watson (was 27(16)-0 at the time) but he never knocked out, or even came close to stopping, any other top opponent after that.

TBH i dont think i could either. Imagine any time you KO'd or TKO'd an opponent after youd be so worried what if he dies, plus its gotta be taxing mentally and effect you every fight

Great Post, Eubank had Collins hurt in the their first fight i think (could have been the 2nd) but he stepped back instead of throwing more shots. the same thing happened vs Thompson at Cruiser weight.

Boom Boom Mancini never looked the same fighter after he tragically killed his Korean opponent Kim in that slugfest in the 80's.

It Obviously hasn't caused Kovalev to change his style, he still looks for the KO. I heard somewhere that the opponent who died might have had soem Brain issues before the fight, not 100% sure though.

I'm sure Kovalev feels bad and wishes it didn't happen but i don't blame him for continuing his career and still looking for the KO because that is biggest asset, his power.
