Typical. A young American prospect looks good in a win but everyone just wants to put him down and find something to criticize.

If Grachev had won we'd be hearing what a great victory it was and how Eastern Euros are taking over boxing.

That was a tremendous performance by Rodriguez. Full stop. End of story.

Honestly: I thought everything was set for a Grachev victory. All-Russian card, Golovkin wearing tuxedo and bow tie, Monte Carlo...
I suspect that Rodriguez was afraid to take chances and gave all that he had from the very start.

Man, Edwin has =come out swinging early before but that was pretty crazy, best performance from him in a while. Honestly, I was starting to worry about where he was going in his career..it seemed to stagnate for a couple of fights, but whatever, he is and has already been seasoned pretty well, it's built in to his style. He takes punches yeah but he's rolls with them, changes levels, steps back, plenty of wrinkles...decent speed for someone who whips wide shots like that..and he can do that because he has D and nice reflexes, it's not that irresponsible in his case. Good fight for any top guy

I don't blame him for his crappy outing in his previous fight in Monte Carlo. He fought against a spoiler and it was hard to look good.

cmon. if grachev didn't duck those punches would hit him on the face.
I agree, there are no excuses for Grachev. He threw virtually nothing.

American or Dominican? I do see him listed as Dominican a lot, he's clearly proud of his roots.

Rodriguez's problem has always been consistency. You look at him and say "Damn he may be next up" but then his next bout is a stinker.

It's funny though because everyone sees Sakio Bika as fresh meat.

Well, he was born in the Dominican but learned to box in America. Kind of like Lennox Lewis is English but was taught boxing in Canada.

getting a shot at the best fighter on the planet not named floyd mayweather is getting nowhere? if he fights ward he'd not going to win, but there's no shame in that. rodriguez has already gotten further than i'd anticipated he'd get. he's earned over a million dollars in purses.

i just find it amusing that rodriguez has been doing the same thing for a long time and nobody starts hating on him until he stops his best opponent in one round.

I find it amusing that you think this is the first time anyone's criticized him for his style.
