Sure, much can be said of who won’t fight Golovkin. It doesn’t matter. After a while, all that matters is results. You have to have the opponents that matter. This weekend, Golovkin has one.

Matthew Macklin has fallen short in two title fights but proved he belonged. He’s faced clearly better opposition as a professional. He’s an exceptional test spot for a fighter who many think will be the man but isn’t yet.

I do not think Macklin will try to engage too early. I think he will try to box ggg to test the waters. If he finds success, he will continue as long as it works. Once Golovkin ups the pace and starts touching him to much, he'll get drawn into a fire fight.

Golovkin can almost seem too patient at times, so it is going to be difficult on how long it takes for him to get to macklin. It could be as early as the third, but I am expecting something along the lines of 5th to 7th round

Just had to tell someone and go on record saying that I had a very realistic vivid dream that Macklin gets knocked out in the third from an overhand left hook, in the centre of rhe ring. He is a little bloodied already, and twists 90 degrees as he falls. Im hoping for a good fight.

GGG in 3? The article talks about Macklin speed being underrated and that he's the first real test for Golovkin, and now it turns out he's going to be defeated in 3? 37 years old LMW Ishida was taken out in 3, and now Macklin is the same as Ishida? I don't like that prediction.

Macklin will test Gennady but Golovkin breaks him down with pressure first with body shots then when he slows beat him upstairs.WAR 3G

I think it's assuming Macklin comes out and stands toe to toe in standard macklin style and doesn't run like ishida. If macklin is cautious and tries to box and avoid a brawl then he should take it into the later rounds
