I think expectations are too high for Broner.

Cotto and AK were natural Jr Welters.

AB was just at Jr Lightweight last year. He fought Paulie in his first fight at 147. His body hasnt had time to acclimate at all.

Look at Cotto's first fight at 154. His power seemed nearly non existent against Yuri Foreman.

Broner jumped two weight classes. Give him a year to adjust.

Sure no rematch so 5 years down the line you guys can still hate on Broner.

Anyone interested in Thurman and Paulie settling their beef from that post fight press conference a few months back? I am. Would make for a good stylistic matchup and the build up will be great.

Nope. Thurman would finish Paulie, unlike Broner. That dude throws bricks. I'd rather see Thurman and Broner myself

No sense fighting Broner again. Fans will not even be curious about the results and anticipate again the lack of energy in the fight. Try to fight Pacquiao instead. Paulie and Pac are both on the decline. They have not fought yet. Hold the event at MSG. Not saying Paulie has a good chance of beating PAC; nevertheless, people will watch. Both of them will get a good paycheck. Both Top Rank and GBP will not negotiate with such animosity as both these cash cows have a short ring life anyway.

Barely anybody felt that Paulie deserved the W or even a draw vs Broner. Mostly people were just disappointed (somewhat irrationally) that Broner didn't KO or humiliate Paulie.

There is no "wrong" to right. No point to the rematch.
Not true - don't know what fight you were watching but it could definitely been a draw.,.....

A split decision is not a clear loss. And it's very easy to be disappointed with Broner because if you're going say you're going to knock Paulie out but can't, much less have him in trouble, while getting tagged (yes they were light punches), then he has a problem.

Khan is fast as hell and all about movement. He's nothing like Broner, style-wise. Styles make fights.

Cotto is big enough to fight at 154lbs and has to cut weight to make 147lbs. Broner is a smaller guy. On top of that fact, Paulie had a broken bone in his face for most of the Cotto fight which had to affect his performance.

When a guy goes from '35 to '47 and fights somebody who is proven to be as tough as old boots, somebody really motivated and prepared to throw 70 punches a round, why are people surprised that he didn't KO him?

Broner probably could have shut Paulie out but he'd have had to fight a boring-as-hell way to do it, and then he'd be criticized for being boring. He can't win in this situation. (Which, arguably, is why he should be less of a mouthy ....)
That's an excuse - he said he was going to fcuk him up & he didn't. All of a sudden he had a change of heart & not shut him out because he was going to be viewed as boring? Please......

Would love to see that fight, but Broner don't want none of Thurman.....

though I didnt see paulie winning, there was a poll done for the fight and 44% people think paulie won. so a lot of people think he won it.

Difference is Paulie might kiss up to Floyd but Broner is swinging from Floyds sack. He wants Floyds life and is obsessed with him while Paulie just acknowledges how great he is.

The Broner fight would be a good fight to call it a day on. Paulie did better than folks thought he would, but he's clearly not near as fast as he once was. Plus, he has a commentary job now so he might as well make the transition and not rack up any more defeats.
