History or not . . . Bhop is a boring fighter.

Edit: I will admit though, because of this history and his career, he is a headliner.

That is a good month of boxing for all though
Not even close in the long run though.

They have 4 more notable fights from here to November. Garcia-Lopez, Macklin-Golovkin, Marquez-Bradley, and Pacquiao-Rios.

Showtime has more fights from here to just September. Paulie-Broner/Banks-Mitchell II, Hopkins-Murat, Smith-Molina, Berto-Karrass/Thurman-Chaves, Mayweather-Alvarez.

Don't forget Matthysse, D. Garcia, Mares, Khan, etc. will all fight by the end of the year. You also have Cotto who confirmed he'll fight again this year, Trout, Guerrero, Ortiz, Maidana, all these guys will probably fight by the end of this year, some in good fights, some in tune up fights but they will fight. It's not close.

To add onto my last post it interests me because it seems showtime tried to make a power play with flyd and gbp and I'm interested to see where they end up if it turns into a big selling point with showtime or if the budget becomes too large and not enough viewers

I'm surprised that having Mayweather on showtime has not added any subscribers plus the All Access ratings for Mayweather-Guerrero were horrible.

Sucks having to keep networks. I keep showtime for boxing only. But hbo has boxing, shows like game of thrones, eastbound and down, vice. Gbp should bring there product back.

The numbers from last weekend and amount of subscribers seem to disagree with you.

You'd have to think that Showtime are going to want to see a jump in viewing figures eventually in order to justify their investment in the Mayweather/Showtime deal. That growth in subscription base and ratings is the whole point after all.

Hmmm pretty surprised about this. I think every Showtime card has done worse then expected as well as the prefight series for Floyd-Robert

I think half the people that watch boxing on HBO aren't actively following boxing so much as they "enjoy it when its on."

Most people I know that have showtime, have it exclusively for boxing. (then again, most people I know are boxing fans . . . So my data clearly has a bias
I was also about to mention this. HBO's overall lineup is just better than Showtime's is. Game of Thrones, True Blood, Boardwalk Empire, VEEP, The Newsroom, Girls, Eastbound and Down.....all of these shows have won awards. Game of Thrones is the most watched show on all of TV, I think it beats out The Walking Dead.

People already have HBO because of their robust lineup and probably just got Showtime because it and HBO were offered in a bundle for a discounted rate. They might watch Dexter, the Borgias, Nurse Jackie, Shameless, House of Lies or Californication but only Dexter is mainstream enough to compare with most of HBO's shows. Shameless is a good show though, it is pretty crazy.

Like you said, I also got Showtime for boxing......of course I watch the other shows but it's main benefit for me is the boxing.
