More BS from HBO trying to save face after losing Floyd and GBP to Showtime. They never started reporting ratings until the past few months and then its only the decent ratings, which this was not, but they are spinning saying that it was by aggregating multiple airings.

Not in immediate press release format the way they have been the past few months. Usually they're only reported once or twice a year, and that's more of a report on all their broadcasts in general, not cheerleading like they've been trying to do lately.
My favorite part about them combining multiple airings for the 1.1million total "success" is them pretending that there was no opportunity cost involved. Or rather, that if something other than boxing was on a 3pm PST, it would have gotten no ratings. You can only go off prime time and based on that it was a failure at only ~500K viewers, which is *old* Showtime numbers.

I am very discouraged by a lot of the European posters in this thread.
Initially they claim that Andre Ward cannot draw flies to a pile of doo doo and that Froch is an all-action warrior that is the main event at 168.
But when they are presented with facts, actual numbers, confirming that Andre Ward is the bigger draw on HBO, they hide behind nationalistic excuses.
Which excuse are you riding with? Andre Ward can't draw flies to excrement or that Andre Ward is only where he is at because of his country by birth?
By the way, here is Andre Ward manhandling Carl Froch in the Super Six Final in the USA and almost getting robbed on 2 of the cards...

You are most likely a Floyd Mayweather fan. Distracted by TV ratings, PPV numbers, gates, purses, attendance. I no longer wish to argue the business aspect of this sport. I will focus on the boxing.
Here are Carl Froch and Andre Ward boxing, please talk to me after watching the fight:

When a hater's hatred wins, he is criticized for being either a) boring, b) not a big enough draw, or c) both.
Gamboa, Ward, and the Klitchkos are all victims of this. Floyd used to be but now that he is a phenomenon the haters' only option left is to play revisionist history on his undefeated record fighting world class opponents for well over a decade as if he fought the same bums Calzaghe did during most of his run.

I think Froch needs to try some humble pie.
Oh yeah, and then there is this...
