I don't care what Sr states someone can always be beaten by someone else. Even though Floyd has been beaten ( Castillo ) but there is someone maybe it's Mathysse we just don't know until the fight is made or maybe it's someone else ?

That's the reason I want to see Mayweather-Matthysse. Imagine if Lucas can land a couple solid hooks and right hands to the body, or even just **** his shoulders and arms, for 6,7,8+ rounds... can Floyd hold up to that at 36? What about if Lucas lands to the chin with either hand? All Floyd has to do is slip-up once or twice...

It's the what-ifs that make this fight interesting.
That's what everyone says they're gonna do to Floyd, but nobody actually does it...except for Castillo.

Lucas has excellent boxing skills an he used them last sat.

He started off parrying Lamont's jab with his own right hand.

Then he adjusted by slipping to his left under the jab in position

for the left hook while staying covered with his own right hand.

He also used the jab ala Floyd as a blinder to land the right hand body then left

Which not only put Lamont down early but kept him buzzed.

        Don't be so gullible.

        Rewatch the fight.

        STUDY what Lucas does.

        Watch his footwork.
        Watch him adjust.
        He took away Lamont's jab.

        He's legit.

        Not just a bomber.
Yes Lucas can box. But to say he is an excellent boxer is exaggerating. He threw some of the wildest shots I've ever seen in the first and second round of the Peterson fight. In round one when Peterson was moving, he was missing wildly. He even missed so bad he knocked his own self down. Do you remember that?

Judah and Alexander are clearly not the best in the division. Lucas even knocked both of them down. Even with the KD point advantages, he still couldn't outbox those two B level fighters to a win. (And even if u think he did win, the score was so close that it still proves he needs more work.)

The problem is fans today look at boxing in the same way the did baseball years ago. It's too boring so we need more home runs, and in this case brawlers. In the end that mentality ruins the sport.

Yes Lucas is good, but he is receiving way more praise than he deserves simply because of his power. Plus he can't cut the ring off. But it's gonna happen just like with Guerrero. People are going to overhype Lucas to fight a bigger fight before he's ready and he is going to get schooled. Guys who can box and have movement beat him all day everyday, ie Bradley, JMM, Floyd.

Lucas earned a good win with Peterson and does have remarkable power but against guys who know how to box a lil more than he does, he didn't KO. In a potential fight with Floyd and Matthysse..... Floyd punishes Matthysse with sharp, fast and crisp counters. I'm surprised that people actually believe Floyd is ducking Matthysse considering the performance he put on against Guerrero. Matthysse still has some way to go but his power is undeniable but power doesn't always get the W.

The Mayweathers don't give anybody credit but Floyd.

It's OK to think that Floyd is the best fighter pound for pound but he's not the only elite fighter in the game right now.

Totally agree with you. I don't remember seeing any posts about how Floyd should fight Lucas before the Peterson fight. I think everyone is too caught up in the KO and Lucas's KO record to see clearly. Probably same fans who thought Floyd vs Guerrero and Ortiz fights were worthy.

Quite true. We all know Floyd's defense is (still) top-notch, but how can you avoid getting hit AT ALL? Even if Matthysse struggles to find him, he'll still get lucky a handful of times. To counter that, Floyd's been buzzed on a few occasions (Mosley, Hatton, Judah) and managed to fully recover and dominate.

Floyd should be fighting Alvarez at 154 anyways.

                  No one else is ppv.

Floyd sr said Floyd is a natural 140 lber

So floyd apparently can choose to fight Lucas at 140. Right?

I like when Schafer calls Canelo "Another Pacquiao", he's laying the ground work for why they will never fight Canelo, never fight Matthysse, never fight Pacquiao. Hit too hard, and too dangerous. Period. I don't care how much smaller Matthysse is than Floyd. At some point Floyd would get hit, and he'd get knocked out. Matthysse has that kind of power, and "WANT".
