      The guy was a complete and utter scrub, travelling the World to fight journeyman in small hall arenas.

      My guess is he got bored of being a nobody and decided he may as
      well hit the juice because he is in his 30's and going nowhere.

      Suddenly in his late 30's he is knocking out legit middleweights with amazing speed stamina and reflexes.

      SEEMS LEGIT.
