He does have decent power but I don't think its something that Lucas hasn't felt before. He did manage to hurt Bradley after he got knocked down if I remember correctly. What Lucas has to be aware of are the body punches. That's how Pete wins his fights. All I know is who ever works the body more is going to be the winner. Both can take a punch upstairs and neither of them can box for an entire round so they well have to fight it out on the inside. Body work = winner
Peterson never had Khan hurt like Maidana did in the 10th. When everyone and their mother is dropping Khan, and you barely make him wobble despite landing your best shots, your power is nothing special. Peterson can hit, but not hard enough to say he has real power.
Khan ran after getting tagged a few times, therefore Peterson concentrated on his body - the cat below you knows......
I'd be suprised if LP took Lucas out clean but Lamont taking Lucas out late in the fight after doing his bodywork throughout isn't shocking Peterson digs too the body like Lucas brutally
Peterson will have to alternate between both to have a chance.
Lamont could really be dangerous if he would fully turn his punches over...He obviously has naturally heavy hands, but his execution is just slightly off. He clubs his shots just a little bit a' la Timothy Bradley. I believe that's why he isn't taking guys out at the top level because he has no problem landing clean shots.
I agree - he has terrible technique. If he could correct that, he'd have more KO's. With the amount of punches that landed on Holt, with proper technique, he would have been outta there way before......
Judah is clearly a better puncher than Peterson, and Matthysse ate Judah's counter left uppercut like nothing, say what you may about Judah but that ain't a shot one can smile at. If he's able to hurt Matthysse it's gonna be through accumulation and even I doubt that happens. His focus point should be body punching, taking steam out of Matthysse's power and Peterson is capable of that.

I don't see this at all, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Peterson's punching technique, he knows how to put everything into his punches and he does turn them over. The man isn't a big puncher, all there is to it.

I think his gameplan is going to be to box.
Atleast early. Much like the Khan fight, he went out there with the intent to outbox him but made the adjustment.
That's where Peterson would have the edge in this fight IMO.
