Arum shouldn't have made this fight for Brandon's sake. He's just coming off two hard battles with Alvarado, why place him in with Pac? It's just going to be another hard fight and the guy career will become even shorter. He's a pressure fighter who takes a ton of punches, so he won't be in the sport too long and having him fight three tough fights in a row is just murder for this guys career.

Some of these clowns in here saying Arum is full of crap are idiots, this was broken by a denver newspaper before, and they cleared it up and said Alvarado did have surgery.

That makes sense since Brandon Rios is really the only option in house for Manny since Alvarado was injured and Marquez and Bradley are fighting.

Anybody who thinks alvarado or rios has a shot against pacquaio is a ******. it really doesnt matter who it is neither of them are on that level. A rios fight would probably be more entertaining.

Well said. Arum only looks at his margins. They aren't even people to him. His fighters are simple chess pieces in the win-win-profit game he likes to play with himself. If somebody gets hurt: oh well.

            Its a barometer fight.

Both guys are coming off losses.

Pac is a fading legend on his way out, its two fold here, and win win for Arum.

Does Pac still have it? if he wins he regains some momentum again, if he loses it revives Rios, and Rios will say he wants Alvarado at 147 for a third fight.

So what Arum is doing is making a crossroads bout which is basic common sense for a promoter. This is going to be a really interesting fight, young lion vs old lion.

Like Bernard Hopkins said this is a dangerous fight, and Pacman is brave for taking on a guy who has a strong chin, and will test Pac's chin with hard shots, remember Rios rocked Alvarado with a jab and cut his face up bad. If you want to get a guys confidence up you don't put him in with an aggressive puncher, and Pacman gets hit a lot slow Margarito hit him a lot and often.

This is not a fight to gain back a fighters confidence after they just been knocked out cold, this is a fight that promoter made with his two fighters to determine something he wants determined.

Rios loses yet he is still a draw cause he is young and losing to a legend is nothing to be ashamed off, if he wins his marketing value goes up and he has options with Alvarado, Bradley, Marquez or Ruslan.

Pacquiao loses he becomes a stepping stone for Arum and fades away, he wins people will gain interest in him again if he can regain form. Americans love a comeback or the champion who can comeback off the canvas.

Rios, Alvarado who cares. Neither is a cherrypick. Pacman got destroyed for heavens sake. What's he supposed to do, jump out of the pot and into the fire??

I mean yeas Alvarado won the fight. But the fight was very close. It's not like Rios looked like hot garbage or got dominated. People are really paying too much attention to that mark in the "L" column this time.

Oh so I guess we see the following fights for Pacquiao for 2013/14

                    November 2013 Rios
                    June 2013 Alvarado
                    November 2014 Bradley rematch

Zzzzzzzzzz tired of Arums in house fighting game and Mayweather fighting stiffs. We the people need to make the Pac/Mayweather it's ridiculous these guys haven't fought yet. Make it happen already dam

                      good post green k sent

if it was any other fighter i would agree ! but manny is special, what better way to come back than against a top notch opponent ! bernard hopkins said how risky this fight is and hes an all time great! unlike what mayweather did by comming back against a light touch like the ghost , manny decided to go balls to the wall and fight a animal
