Comments Thread For: Martinez-Murray/Garcia-Judah: Pre-Weekend Report Card

By Cliff Rold - It’s time for the latest chapter in “As the Premium Networks Turn.”

Or is it “All My Promotional Feuds?”

Whatever one calls it, it’s another night of HBO and Showtime showing quality shows at the same time. Some people don’t like it. Some people don’t like Christmas or Salma Hayek dancing with a snake in “From Dusk ‘Til Dawn.”

    They’ll get over it.

Boxing can never have enough good fights and if there just isn’t enough room to have them all on different nights, then the least we can ask is for it to be kept lively. Mission accomplished this weekend in a solid Middleweight title affair and an old-fashioned grudge match at Jr. Welterweight.

Let’s go to the report cards. [Click Here To Read More]

Damn shame these fights are on the same night. I'm rooting for Sergio and Zab. If Sergio hasn't lost a step, he should pull this one out. I see Zab giving Danny hell early, even dropping him. But Garcia is tough and younger, and I see him pulling it out.

Agreed. I think zap will surprise him early. It's all about how Danny handles the early pressure and IF he get's clocked, wether or not he can recover. Garcia is going to have to fight smart early and try and take him into the late rounds. But if he clocks Judah, it's over.

Garcia is going to put Judah out. Zab just doesn't have the mental toughness it takes to be on top. Dude had all the talent in the world but no focus or durability against adversity. Garcia is just a focus kid with a big left hook and some patience. He's tough and not flashy. Gets the job done and that's what counts.

Martinez is a skillful fighter. I don't know much about this Murray guy but he seems to be a good fighter but you have to be great to beat Martinez. Add to the fact that this is a big fight for Martinez in his home country. He's getting the KO.

Garcia in the 4th or 5th
Martinez in the 7th or 8th.

Either way it is KO night.
