Comments Thread For: Weights From Brooklyn: Quillin, Guerrero Over Limit

Months worth of feuding in person, online and any other way imaginable are now just a day away from being resolved in the ring. Danny 'Swift' Garcia and Zab 'Super' Judah are moments away from stepping on the scales for Friday's official weigh-in for their 140 lb. title fight Saturday evening at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Garcia (25-0, 16KO) helped christened the building with a 4th round knockout over Erik Morales in their rematch last October.

Judah (42-7, 29KO) hasn't fought since a career-resurrecting knockout win over then-unbeaten Vernon Paris last March. The bout marked his first ever appearance in his home borough of Brookyn.

The televised co-feature pits unbeaten middleweight titlist Peter Quillin against Fernando Guerrero - assuming both can get within the middleweight limit.

Quillin (28-0, 20KO) weighed in over the middleweight limit, coming in at 161 1/2 lb. He will have two hours to shed 1 1/2 lb., otherwise will risk losing his title on the scales.

Guerrero has less of an uphill battle, though was also heavy. The Maryland-based Dominican came in at 160.4 lb.

Both fighters will weigh-in again at 2:10PM ET. [Click Here To Read More]

Always an odd occasion when both fighters are over. I assume they've calibrated the scales correctly, Occam's razor would suggest that too, but then again, this is boxing...

Missing weight is one of the worst things you can do in boxing.

Just a disgrace... either move up in weight or make the weight.

This is weird cause Quillin seems like a dedicated guy to me. He hits me as the type that stays in the gym and doesn't blow up between fights. I'm very disappointed in him for this tho.
