I don't think it's leaky in general, I think it's more leaky for the style he uses. He tries to pull off the shoulder roll, Floydesque defence, but gets hit too much for what i've usually seen with that style.

Okay, The Problem was getting touched up a bit by Gavin Rees, so what? Gavin Rees underrated mayne, former champion. Okay, so he was only 5'2 and has the reach of stunted Trex...but, ah, the boy AB LET Rees hit him! Yeah, that's the ticket...

Its just another way to hate on Broner. I don't care much for his personality, but I will watch every one of his fights. This kid is flat out fun to watch.

To me it looks like he has a similar problem (though not as severe) as Cotto when he tried to use the shoulder roll. His reflexes don't match up with the nature of the move and he deflects the punch a little to late(better than berto who deflects it too early). He benefits from his size and the fact that he hasnt really been in the ring with a devastating puncher so he never really pays for it. Its why I wonder how he will fare with a heavy puncher where the difference between him being on his feet or his ass depends on how well he times it.

broner has very good if not great defense, the reason he gets hit as much as he does is his approach. hes a search and destroy fighter, when you put so much emphasis on offense your defense is bound to suffer.

for a guy who spends much of the fight in the pocket, with is feet planted, throwing bombs and putting his shots together he doesnt get hit much at all. that broner can be so aggressive and not get hit more is a credit to his defense because most fighters with that style get hit significantly more.

also, whenever he does decide to box and be more defensive he barely gets touched. some of the perceived leaks in his D are by design, broner is very clever and an excellent counter puncher. he likes to think a step ahead of his opponent, set traps and catch them when they least expect it.

It also helps that he's significantly larger than his opposition and has yet to face a puncher.

I'm blaming Broner's diet of stripper pu.s.sy for getting KOed in sparring. I'm sure if he stopped eating out strippers, he'll return to form
