So, the EXACT same thing he said about Pacquiao?

Though I don't particularly care about Mayweather-Martinez anymore. If Sergio isn't willing to take any risks to force Mayweather into the fight, than why should I care?

There is NO excuse why he can't fight Martinez.
Yes there is. Floyd cant even make 154. Any fight he has above 47, is a BONUS fight. He is not obligated to fight even Canelo, Cotto, Martinez, Trout. They have weight classes for a reason. In the Cotto fight, Cotto was bulldozing, and Floyd was sliding backwards on his feet, because he was too small for him. Im not even a Floyd fan anymore, and its widely known that I cut for Sergio. He is my favorite, but he is too big for Floyd. Not only that, but I predict a dominant performance for him, and a stoppage over Mayweather. He could just walk through the punches and break Floyd's bones at any given time of the fight.

If he cant even make 154, weighs in at 152, but because he's a natural ww, his weight fluxuates, and he accidentally comes into the ring at 147 fighting a 160lber, II will NOT demand he fights Sergio. Sergio will be allot bigger, stronger, and forceful than Cotto. I have always said that 54' fights are BONUS fights, and its up to Floyd if he wants to put himself through that, because it WILL take years off of his body. Dude is 36, and I am a Martinez fan.

It was really funny when he said it about Pac. Pac was a world champion at basically the exact same time Mayweather was.

Floyd vs Sergio would be an all time great fight. I could see Floyd fighting him next year.

this is some of the dumbest journalism I ever read. author says that the fight won't happen because of weight, but then he quotes Floyd saying Martinez was a nobody over a decade ago, which has nothing to do with weight classes.

Floyd gotta ask himself where was Guerrero when Floyd was 21?

Floyd has a belt at 154, Martinez says he'll come down to 154, but all Floyd can say is he's a MW.... tires of all of Floyd's excuses.... this douche is indefensible

ODLH a blown up WW? At that point in time dude was a natural LMW.

I also think Martinez can make 154 and Martinez is by far *the* biggest fight out there for Floyd, easily the best legacy defining option he has available right now.

                    That's a small middleweight

How is that a small MW?

He weighed in at 170 aginast Dzinziruk and even so, 7 lbs above the weight doesn't make you small for the weight.

Someone who is small for a weight is Marquez who weighs in at 144 and comes to the ring at 148-150, 3 lbs max above the limit.

Saying Martinez is a small MW is like saying Mayweather is a small WW. Mayweather comes in 3 lbs above the WW limit, let alone 7, and he's not a small WW.

Seems to me that Martinez not making the weight healthy is an excuse by Floyd fans for Floyd not fighting the man, strange. I mean of course his fans are also gonna say, "well Floyd won't get any credit". Like he gets much credit for the guys he does fight, lol. Hell, in fact I'm sure he'd have gotten more credit for beating a weight drained Martinez at 154 than he will for the Ghost at 147. So even then the weight excuse would be lame.
I don't want to see the fight if Martinez is dead at the weight.

But I'm not even saying he's dead at the weight. I'm just saying that it's obviously not out of the question considering the amount of time it's been since he's been that low.

Me personally? I'd like to see Martinez-Mayweather at 160.

Or, IF Martinez can make 154 (We'd find out on fight night) then yeah of course I'd love to see Mayweather-Martinez.

I'd rather Martinez move down to 154 first to see if he can make the weight well.
