How does a mandatory become a cherrypick?

floyd looked mediocre and in most observers eyes went 1-1 against castillo. he was placed at #8 p4p after both fights. a respectable position but with the closeness of both fights he still had much to prove. the next year he fought phillip ndou and victoriano soso. he moves up to #5.the next year he fights only demarcus corley and moves up to #2. the next year he fights gatti and becomes #1! you did it floyd you did it! proved it!

The question is how he became a mandatory and more pertinent one is how important is being mandated by some bent sanctioning body that makes the rules up to suit its own agenda and bank balance anyway? It doesnt make Guerrero an acceptable fight for the so called P4P#1 when from the boxing fans point of view there are much better options.

If this fight was free I'd shrug, but its not. Its just more once a year, overpriced crap.

Floyd said the same thing also about Pacquiao. Now he is saying it about Sergio. You know what that means..................................Floyd is not gonna fight Martinez.

If I'm in a fan of Mayweather I want to see him in a fight that has meaning. If he fought Martinez at 160lb I would be up for that, that fight would have purpose ( at the same time it is not something I realistically expect). If Martinez was to prove that he can still be effective at 154lb I would be up for Mayweather fighting Martinez at Jr. Middleweight. I expect Mayweather to fight the winner of Trout. Those fights would have value to me as a customer.

Mayweather vs a weight drained Martinez I have no interest in the same way I had no interest in Ward v Dawson. If he wants to beat a half dead bull so be it but I am not going to bitch about him passing on the fight because it is not a fight I want to see. Plain and simple.
This might all make sense if you actually know Martinez would be weight drained. Which you don't.

But like I stated originally Martinez being weight drained is not a valid excuse for Floyd (not) to fight him. It may have been a valid excuse for Martinez to (not) fight Floyd, but not the other way around. I could really care less about this fight anyway.

My interest now lies in what's gonna happen after April 20th. And also why Khan got a doctored up welterweight ranking. The only thing that seems reasonable is that Khan got the treatment to be Floyd's next opponent while he ducks the winner of canelo/Trout.

I wouldn't call it a cherrypick but it should be a soft touch. If he wins I'm not exactly going to say ''Mayweather beat Guerrero'' as though it is some great accomplishment, he'd be just another figure.

Then stream it or download it the day after, no one is a holding a ******* to your back. In this day and age there is no excuse to ***** about a fight being overpriced on ppv, don't buy the product and view it for free.

He sure beat a lot of figures!

And yes, if you care about the sport there is a reason to be pissed about the self proclaimed best, the P4P#1 fighting average fights once a year and getting paid kings ransome for it.

Nobody shouts 'Im the best' louder than floyd.....well maybe his ******ed fans do, but he needs to step up and earn it. He doesnt.
