Comments Thread For: News: Bika vs. Periban, Porter vs. Lo Greco, Ogogo

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has advised krikya360.com that Showtime's June 8th card, featuring a welterweight war between Marcos Maidana (33-3, 30KOs) and Josesito Lopez (30-5, 18KOs) in the main event - will become a tripleheader at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.

In co-feature, junior middleweight Erislandy Lara (17-1-2, 11KOs) and Alfredo Angulo (22-2, 18 KOs) will trade punches. Rounding out the tripleheader is a super middleweight slugfest between Sakio Bika (31-5-2, 21KOs) and Marco Antonio Periban (20-0, 13KOs).

    Nice matchmaking.

Shaun Porter vs. Phil Lo Greco came out of nowhere but sounds interesting.

      Goldenboy and Showtime's line up will be hard to compete with. Starting Apr.20 Canelo/Trout, Apr.27 Garcia/Judah, May 4 Mayweather/Guerrero and Mares/Ponce, May 18 Peterson/Matthysse and Alexander/Brook, June 8 Maidana/Lopez, Lara/Angulo and Bika/Periban, July 20 Berto/Soto Karass and Chaves/Thurman. That's a years worth of great match ups in four months.

Not a fan of Porter but that's another decent fight added, it can only help the card. Can't wait for the tickets.

LoGreco was almost KOd in his last fight by a below average guy so considering Porter didn't look all that impressive against an older Diaz(opinion could change after his clash w/Khan) he must show his class.

Periban if that's the same guy i'm thinking it is , Bika won't have to go looking for him.

And vice versa. Periban doesnt have best defence or boxing skills but is huge and punches like a mule. Hes been dropped but has beaten some good fighters. If he beats bika that will be impresive. Cant wait to see if he adjust

Bika has been trying this boxing thing lately but faced with a guy who wants no part of that he'll either **** or box either seems intriguing. Then that is the same guy.

I don't recall having seen Periban before but if he's solid then this is a good card.

I remember Periban, a big tall mexican, he was on the Linares-Thompson undercard and i remember he was dropped hard in the first round

He's pretty decent but his biggest problem is throwing unnecessary punches and getting caught in between. He's also pretty easy to hit, Bika shouldnt have a problem
