Mayweather has stated numerous times that Canelo is an option and possibility. I'm sure you'll conveniently ignore that.
That was his reason for not signing the "agreement" for Canelo to be on the under card and later, should they both emerge victorious in May, fight in September.

It can be viewed as pertaining strictly to the May PPV event I guess but he should have said that from the gitgo and just squashed it. He tried to lead the kid with a smoke screen until the last possible moment and then did a 180....sounds to me like he wanted Canelo to be satisfied by a verbal agreement, something that he could easily walk away from after the May PPV, unlike a signed contract.

I'll go as far as to say it's not an intent to avoid fighting Canelo (giving Floyd the benefit here) but it seems like a very shady and deceptive way to do business.

Floyd can say a lot of things. He said that Manny was also an option, Martinez is an option, Ward is an option. That by no means is an indication that he is going to fight these guys.

Mayweather is not going to sign to fight someone else when he already has a fight signed. He's just not going to.

And secondly, he's not going to be given demands and ultimatums by someone who has never been on PPV before and done nothing in his career.

This doesn't mean he won't fight him, it just means he won't be dictated too.

As for the last sentance, when has Mayweather said Ward is an option? I'm also positive he has never even implied that.

And he's been a lot more vocal and to the point about fighting Canelo than he ever was with Pacquaio or Martinez.

Canelo is the new face of boxing. Soon to be #1 P4P fighter in the world. Floyd's been exposed. The more fights he ducks the more clear it is. Only time will tell if Showtime made a bad deal or not. One thing for sure is...HBO didn't care. Showtime got HBOs left overs. Canelo refusing to headline on a Floyd event only gives Floyd a reason to not fight him. Call It politics. I call it ducking.

I hope this kid gets his ass whooped in April...

Where was all this determination to fight someone in his own weight class over the last several "years"?

He wants this huge payday, but he's just now doing the necessary things to earn that payday. He needs to put the blame on himself and GBP.

All of a sudden he shows all this initiative and take control of his career, but he wasn't saying schit when he was matched against the likes of Josesito Lopez.

All that's fine but like I said, he should have been up front about it from the beginning and told Canelo that. He didn't, he even went as far as to acquiesce to a verbal agreement with him and said he would sign a contract as well. Yet when it came time to sign the contract, he immediately says that he won't be dictated to. Which is clearly not the same stance he had been taking with the entire situation up until that point.

Now, in Canelo's defense, even though he hasn't done schit, I can absolutely see where he's coming from.

I remember in 2008 when Floyd didn't want to fight Cotto because they said Cotto wasn't a PPV draw. Cotto definitely had the WW resume, something Canelo lacks at JMW, but Team Mayweather said Cotto wasn't a draw.

Well, that problem is solved now because despite his resume, Canelo is definitely a draw.

Are you new to the boxing world? Better asked...Are you new to Floyd Mayweather? Haven't you heard the buzz? Everyone wants to see the canelo vs Floyd fight. This beef just gave the master ducker a reason to not fight him.

When did Mayweather say he would sign a contract in advance?

Or are you just taking Canelo's word for it?

Mayweather has shown in the past that he will keep his word on a verbal agreement anyway.
