Comments Thread For: Groves Eyes Carl Froch; Hearn Discusses The Fight

George Groves has reiterated his belief that a fight with Carl Froch could happen sooner rather than later. IBF super-middleweight champion Froch is currently tied up with Mikkel Kessler and potential re-matches with Lucian Bute and Andre Ward. However, British rival Groves intends to crash the party and will be looking to advance his reputation when he fights on the Froch-Kessler undercard on May 25.

I'd like to see Froch go for a Ward rematch if he can beat Kessler. If he loses to Kessler then a fight with Groves would be good.

Groves-Dirrell would be a good fight, and Hearn could probably get that in the UK as well. I'd like to see him against Adonis Stevenson or Tommy O also, some good fights can be made if they're looking for a real step up.

It's definately an intriguing match-up. Groves is a little green at the moment, and he does like to trade a bit too much. With the intensity Froch would put on him, I see a relatively comfortable victory for Froch as of now. Groves should concentrate on establishing himself as a good "tier 2" SMW with the likes of Stieglitz, Abraham, Dirrell, Oosthuizen and those kind of fighters. If he can beat some of those and potentially winning a WBO belt, he's looking good for a Froch fight. But not in 2013.

Froch would destroy Groves atm. They are similiar perhaps except one has a chin and more power, the other a suspect chin and not quite at his peak yet.... If i were Hearn, keep taking Groves the WBO route.

They won't mention Dirrell because Dirrell owned Groves' asss in sparing. They know he's no where near Dirrell because they sparred a lot in Florida when Dirrell was grossly out of shape.Still he proved to be far too good for Groves.
Groves sparred Froch as well and he had some success with Froch but then Froch has improved greatly ever since. He's one very underrated fighter in Britain, this fight won't even be close but hey let him call for the fight.

Dirrell would be terrible for Groves. Unless Dirrell has regressed terribly, he schools Groves

Groves sparred Dirrell when he was a rank amateur and Dirrell said he did ok

Groves sparred froch and got knocked on his ass and they had to stop the sparring

****ing lying yanks trying to create rumour and myth

Dirrell? what does Dirrell bring to the party? no belt, no fans, just a lot of faking, ducking and diving. No one wants to watch that.

To be honest I think it's a decent fight, I don't care what happened in sparring when groves best opponent was Kenny Anderson, they actually have similar fight styles, Dirrellis a bit more defensive minded, groves a bit more powerful.

I think the problem for Dirrell is he's used to facing slow brawlers who don't havethe ffootspeed to force him into a fight, froch and Abraham being his two best opponents, neitherof them have any footspeed at all. I think groves does have the footspeed to keep up with Dirrell, so it'd be interesting.

Also Dirrell is pushing 30 and his career thus far has been shambolic, he's not a fighter i have any faith in

Groves sparred Dirrell when he was training for the fight against James DeGale.Dirrell had been out for a long time.He said the sparring went well (that was diplomatic),it was nothing but well.Dirrell had to take it easy because Groves was way too slow for him and Groves knows he's nowhere near Dirrell.Ask anyone who was at that gym those days man, many people witnessed that stuff.Dirrell ended up just role playing, that's not to say Groves is not a good fighter. He's but he's still developing a bit too green.Froch's too good for him too but if he wants a beating let him get it.

As for your ****,it's too small to be ******,I would rather suck a figher than that tiny stub you got.
