But why would a linear Super-Middleweight Champion, and prime P4P fighter Ward fight a has-been, B-List Title holder in Hopkins? Dont' just look at it from Hopkins' point of view, look at it from Ward's.

If Ward wanted a Light-Heavy belt, then he should've fought Dawson at 175 to begin with. Dawson, who defeated Hopkins. Dawson who is true Light-Heavy Champion. Hopkins is entitled to cherry pick at this point. And if cherry picking means unifying belts with another B-lister in Nathan Cleverly, then more power to him.

Hopkins knows that he'd lose to ward at this stage in his career. and he's letting it be known that be wants big money to make that fight happen because it will damage his late career run

He fought Pascal first since he peeped his style and decided that he could take him. I can't really too much about that because Pascal had the ring belt. He wasn't lining up to fight Cloud until Campillo exposed him. He'll probably face Cleverly next. I'd have more respect for him if he would've fought them prior to them being exposed.
Nobody cares about having your respect, convict.

I just saw your signature "Ward P4P Champ". Why would you want Ward to fight Hopkins? Is there demand for this fight? They're not even in the same weight class. What's the catch here besides Hopkins saying that he would not fight him?

Shouldn't Ward stay at 168 and clean out the division? Moving up to 175 to fight Hopkins when he just fought the True Light-Heavyweight Champion in Dawson at 168, would be a "B1tch move", as you called it in the other thread.

Why would he fight him? Perhaps because Hopkins has a bigger name and profile than anyone he has fought up til now and anyone else he could fight in the near future.

Also, have you noticed how people are talking about this fight now? Do you not think that occured to Hopkins when he decided to state this? I would not be at all surprised if this fight got made. The potential for selling it would be massive, and that sort of thing isnt lost on any TV network, promoter or fighter.

Perhaps. With that said, Hopkins has earned the right to cherry pick. My guess is that he is basically saying, "15 million is my barometer for this fight, which is me overpricing myself on purpose. However if you do come up with this kind of cash, I'll do it even though I know that I can't beat a great fighter in his prime who would've given me trouble even at my prime".

And again, from Ward's point of view, this fight is unjustifiable when he just fought the real 175 champ without having moved up Light-Heavy. You've got to take my comment in context. I responded to a guy who is accusing Hopkins of a "B1tch move".

Dawson got his ass kicked by Pascal that's why they didn't fight sooner. And not to you but how ****** does somebody have to be to call Hopkins a cherry picker when he's fought every name fighter every champ at light heavyweight and consistently gives up 15 years in age to his opponents? Mayweather is a cherry picker not Hopkins.

Don't understand why Bhop keeps bringing this up. No fans are going to call him out for passing on Ward. The man is about to collect social security, so who expects him to fight the P4P #2 fighter in the world, who is also nearly 20 yrs his junior. Bhop is just making himself look cowardly when nobody was thinking it.

Bhop Brings It Up Because Its Not Fans Asking For Such Fights; It's Promoters !

Bhop is letting these promoters know, he's fighting to spoil careers. He considers Ward the next great to carry the torch for years to come. If he can make the pretenders go away, he is motivated by that. That's credible. It's these idiotic promoters that go hound to make ****** fights happen, so to create their own payday. If they look around they can always find some clown to throw a lot of money at a bad fight; case in point Broner vs Mags. So Bhop is just establishing his rules and conditions, which I like. It would be easy for Bhop to come have a unification fight with Ward, get a massive payday, and lose a unanimous decision. He's above that. That's a ****** move Mayweather, Roy Jones, or Broner would pull; they were all about easy money.

I know boxing is tough and a lot of people emphasize that 0, but losses don't kill a fighters legacy. Look at Ali for example.
We don't know if the Executioner can't beat SOG...they never fought. A loss for SOG and the Problem won't hurt them especially if the losses come to the Executioner and Money.

At this point in the Executioner and Money career, there is no need to fight your proteges.
