Comments Thread For: Paulie Malignaggi Slams Hard on Adrien Broner and HBO

While WBA Welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi’s next fight still has not yet been determined, he is already back in the gym preparing for whatever is next. Malignaggi was getting in his workout at the Wild Card gym with trainer Eric Brown and spoke to BoxingScene about his thoughts on a possible clash with Broner which is currently being discussed for June.

Malignaggi is very confident that if he indeed takes on Broner he will be Broner’s toughest test to date and will come out victorious. The always candid Malignaggi didn’t hold back as he said he feels Broner has been fed handpicked opponents and also went off on HBO for being the ones who are responsible for it. Not a big fan of malignaggi's boxing but i gotta give credit where credit is due. Malignaggi is right. Im not a fan of broner until he beats good opposition. I hate HBO and their commentators. Theyre fans of hype jobs. I think if Broner fights someone his size or bigger hewould be laid out. Dude is garbage. Malignaggi has gone toe to toe with the best.

In Paulies 23rd pro fight he was facing a prime beast Miguel Cotto. In Broners 25th pro fight he was facing Gavin Reese!

In terms of his future commentary career I don't think it's good business on his part to publicly criticise HBO.

True but a couple months ago he tweeted that he got a long term commentating contract with Showtime. They must be paying him good if he's calling out HBO like that.

Paulie's mouth more than his boxing skills have gotten him paid. He's good at commentating I think Broner and Thurman will both beat him. I don't see him holding his title much longer or being relevant in the sport as a fighter much longer.
