Comments Thread For: Beltran: Only Pacquiao Brings Marquez What He Wants

Promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions admits that only Manny Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38KOs) can satisfy the financial demands of Juan Manuel Marquez (55-6-1, 40KOs). The Mexican star is planning to continue his career at the age of 39, but he wants at least a guaranteed purse of $10 million dollars or more for his next fight.

What happened with that $15 million offer to fight some African guy in Dubai? Did he make that up to get more leverage in the Pac negotiations?

Well... as you can see, Marquez is not a business guru.
I'm a fan of both guys, but Pacquiao is my #1....still, 20 mills or at least 15 mills is a reasonable purse for Marquez imho.

It works two ways Manny cant fight anybody else because if he loses its game over , so why not have a big payday shot at redemption if he looks bad who cares , it easy to see the path Manny is on , otherwise he would have at least another fight before JMM , but the big chance is the reality he will fail and so losing a big fight .

They trying to cash out on Manny .

I have read that Marquez had qualified as an accountant.

Pacuiao is still the draw. Marquez is only of interest because he KO'd Pacquiao when he was losing the fight. That was a golden punch. Pacquiao could fight anybody good enough to put up a fight and the house would be almost sold out.

Totally agree, BUT they're interested in Marquez. And right now he's in charge. I get your point, Pacquiao can easily fight someone else, rematch Bradley, Brandon Rios... but me as a Pacquiao fan...I was really shocked and hurt by the way the fight ended, obviously Pacquiao as well. And i know Pacquiao wants Marquez, so without price himself out, Marquez needs to take advantage of this situation.

I agree. Pac made 26m earlier, JMM 6, that's 32. Have them split 16m each, its fair. Or better yet 18, since this one is way more anticipated than 3 or 4, and should do even better numbers.
