Comments Thread For: Adrien Broner's Return in Play For 6/15, Burns The Target

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer advised krikya360.com that WBC lightweight champion Adrien "The Problem" Broner (26-0, 22KOs) will return on an HBO televised date of June 15th. Schaefer has placed the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on hold. Broner retained his WBC title for the first time on February 16th, with a fifth round TKO of gavin Rees.

Broner's preferred opponent for the slot is obviously WBO champion Ricky Burns. If Burns is able to get past IBF champion Miguel Vazquez (33-3, 13KOs) on March 16th, then Schaefer will attempt to make the fight. If the fight can't be made, Schaefer doesn't rule out the possibility of Broner moving up in weight.

They just keep mentioning Burns and never say anything about Vazquez, who IMO is going to beat Burns with his awful but effective style.

he should just say he wants to the winner Burns Vazquez, not just Burns. Its no guarantee that Burns wins

Well if Vazquez wins then he's for sure the biggest threat to Broner at 135, so even if he's awful to watch he's still the man to beat at the lightweight division.
