It's possible. A lot of people have been wrong with these tweets and articles.

The NSAC has a meeting this Thursday and this is their last meeting before May 4th. So I would assume they would want to know full details of what's going on by this week at the latest.

Seems to me that Dan Rafael wants to make some noise.

He said in his tweet "From what I'm told" how many times have we heard that? And then a few tweets later talks as if he has 100% factual information.

Richard Schafer said we will know in 24 hours what's happening with Canelo-Trout so we don't have long to wait.

They need to clear up what the 'contractual' part is. Is Canelo demanding a Floyd fight regardless if he wins or loses against Trout? Or is Floyd saying regardless if Canelo wins or loses, he doesn't want to sign for a Fall fight yet? (which makes no sense since Canelo brings him infinitely more than any other available fighter).

Of course it makes sense we're talking about floyd here. He's chicken **** in general and wont take any risks. If Canelo beat trout Floyd would pee himself at the thought of having to fight him. Look at the great lengths he went to to avoid a bantamweight threat in Pac never mind a legit 154 pound threat.

Makes sense if he's looking at the shortsighted money. But if he's interested in the long term and in exposure, he can't do any better than being on a 1M+ buy Floyd headliner. Especially when this would be the first of a SHO/CBS production since the Mayweather contract - you know they're going to pull out all the stops on this one.

Reality is that if he fights on his own card against Trout, he'll get 250-300k buys. But the buyers would be the same ones that bought his previous fights. He won't be getting any new fans, and it's not like Trout will be bringing any new ones.

I side with Canelo on this one. Canelo vs. Trout can do 300,000 buys minimum. And Canelo will get a flat purse plus PPV upside.

On a Floyd undercard, he probably gets the same purse but no PPV upside.

That's a lot of money he's giving up by being on an undercard. So he wants a guaranteed payday with Floyd so he can make fighting on an undercard worth it for him.

He's looking out for his own financial interests and you can't really knock him for that.

Broner isn't that big of a name yet. My cousin is a casual fan and knows him as "the hairbrush guy." He won't add much in terms of PPV buys.

But they can still put a decent card together:

Mayweather/Guerrero
Broner/Abril or Bogere
Ishe Smith/Carlos Molina
Santa Cruz/Moreno

And then the Mayweather promotions fighters on the non-televised cards

Canelo is ****** to make demands at this stage of his career when negotiating with the biggest star in the sport. If he fights on the undercard and wins, it would create massive demand for a Floyd fight and it would most likely happen next.
