Sergio said that he had to add quite a bit of muscle mass to avoid being "fat" at 160 and he is usually at or around 5% or less body fat when he fights, so he would have to essentially add another 8 pounds of muscle to make 168 which would take away a lot of his speed.

There is very little point in going down and sacrificing himself to make weight against the other mentioned fighters. He may do it for Cotto because he will bring in some money too but that would be a waist of a fight at this point in time.
Summary: There needs to be a very good reason to go down to 154. Floyd would be it. Or else, he might as well stay at 160 and fight Chavez for a decent payday.

Sergio is a natural 154 pounder and fought at that weight until he was 34 years old. He only went to 160 because he was given the opportunity to fight Pavlic and win the middleweight title. Ward is a big 168 pounder. If Martinez fought Ward at 168 he would probably be outweighed by about 15 pounds in the ring. I don't think Martinez is a coward or a bully. Mayweather can turn down the fight with Martinez at 150 if he does not think it's fair. So far Mayweather has shown no interest in fighting Martinez. Martinez and Ward are not big moneymakers.

Honestly I'm getting sick of this guy! He is one of the middleweight champs GGG is the other......................sign the dotted line!!! What middleweight champ is challenging the welter champ?? Why would he step backwards to a junior title (154)???? I understand wanting to earn as much as possible but take care of business as a middleweight first!!! Ray.

Don't bring up Canelo, and Trout, and not expect Martinez to get in on it too.
Don't be scared homie.

Or getting the 140 pound champ Ricky Hatton to fight him in Floyd's weight division of 147?
Yes, that makes him a coward and a bully.
Floyd was always willing to take on smaller guys like the bantamweight Jesus Chavez (1-13) but he's been afraid to fight anyone who was in a bigger weight division.

Ward made the 175 pound champ move down.......and fight him in his own backyard. You do realize that Ward himself said that Martinez was too small.
"Coward and bully"
How about "dumb in dumber"? As in you sound pretty dumb but I can see you retorting with something even dumber.
