paulie is the truth, imo, but i did like tarver. i'm really starting to like mauro renalo. he's not a boxing guy, per say, but he's a professional.

i too will miss 24/7. they'll get basically the same thing from showtime, though.

hardwork, dedication. late night runs. some junk food. big boy mansion. roger and floyd sr needing subtitles. standard floyd money mayweather.

That guy is ****ing atrocious as a boxing commentator.

Listening to him commentate on a striking game which he knows nothing about is cringeworthy. I get the sense that he's only half a second away from yelling out "SPINNING BACKFIST!" every time a punch lands or calling a clinch a 'Muay Thai clinch'.

He knows Floyd will win. And needs to have excuses to why. The pacquiao fad died down so now he can only post about Floyd. Pacman had a good 4 years.

Selling to sports fans is a key, the best way to do that is to get tons of free advertising on other sporting events

I can understand why Showtime would open up the vault though as it is a matter of prestige.

I wonder if Floyd will get a softball interview on 60 minutes~ since that seems to be the business they are in.
Pretty sure he said he wanted to fight in May and September. If they promote the fight along with the Master's, that seems like a great time table. I'm also 100% sure that NCAAF starts in August and NFL starts in September, so...

i like him, certainly more than gus johnson and curt menefee. he knows more about the fight game than either of them, but that's not why he's out there. he's

i don't need a commentator to tell me what i'm seeing. i'm not implying that you do, but that's not what i'm looking for from that part of the broadcasting team. i think of the blow by blow as storytelling, and i think that renalo does a good job in that regard. he's supposed to act as the leader and voice of the broadcast team, and not necessarily to be among it's experts. bernstein and malignaggi do very well in that regard. in terms of facilitating the production / broadcast i think he does quite well.

HBO played themselves real good after firing Greenberg, and now they going to have lay in the bed they made. I mean They hoed themselves out to Top Rank, and Big Rich already let it be known how he felt about the situation and he has connect to all the major attractions.

The Biggest winner in this whole thing is Adrian Broner, because Lampley and HBO is going to have to stay on they knees like they did for Pacquiao, if they want to keep the next big thing associated with that network.
