Unlike the crap we saw tonight
If Wlad was dropped tonight by Jennings and then proceeded to winning by knockout with the use of a borderline illegal punch, I don't think anyone would be talking about tonight as an 'entertaining action packed fight'.

He'd be trashed as a china chinned bum champ who was almost beaten by a former mechanic.

    Double standards.

Although, if Wlad is as passive as he was tonight, Fury actually is in with a shout...and I didn't think I'd be saying that!

I'm fairly sure Wlad was using a boardline illegal push jab today, as well as clinching and leaning...

Maybe you enjoy watching that type of stuff, but i dont

I feel the same way about Ward...

and if u are going to clinch, at least put together some punches, instead of running around the ring reluctant to engage

      disgraceful performance...

No, I didn't enjoy it at all. That's why I've made about 20 posts slamming home that point, even made a thread dedicated to that. Check it out. Wlad looked bad, but it seems the only way Wlad can have an exciting fight is if he KOs a guy decisively, or early, and any type of close fight or one where Wlad is put in serious trouble will just bring him criticism and questions about his chin etc. It's a lose-lose situation.

I expect much better from Wlad next up, or he might as well call it a day.

A boxer can dominate and still have a impressive performance

Wlad simply doesnt put together punches, he is reluctant to engage...its frustrating to watch. You have this huge guy who fights like a pansy

I dont want to see Wlad fight smaller men anymore, if he is to fight twice more it has to be against Fury and Wilder, that will hopefully make him come out of his shell and fight

Wlad has been fighting like this for a long time now

I agree with you on the smaller men point. It's not a good fight for anyone - the opponent, Wlad, or indeed the fans. The smaller man more often than not will just try to survive and not engage, and this creates a very frustrating stalemate since Wlad will not engage till you open up and create that opportunity to be put away. I hope we see the Wlad of the Wach and Pulev fights against Fury or Wilder. If Wlad is even at 80%, he can win those two fights. Although of course both would have decent shots at winning too, definitely at this time better than any time previously.

Actually I hope they do it in England.

I think it's pretty much guaranteed to be next...Wlad doesn't duck his mandos...only other fight worth it for Wlad is Wilder, and that won't happen till end of 2015 EARLIEST.

Let's be honest, age ain't caught up with him yet. He physically is supreme as ever.

He really just did not take Jennings seriously at all. Simply studied him fight, looked at him as a much smaller guy and a massive underdog, and thought he was basically gonna be involved in little more than an "exhibition" bout.

Obviously Jennings rose to the occasion and took it to the ill prepared for a real challenge champion.

If next fight is against one that we all want to see, I bet the REAL Wlad will come out.
