Now completing it's fourth year of selections, the British Columbia Amateur Boxing Hall of Fame now has 60 inductees. For 2013, the process started back in September 2012 and slowly progressed with 30 nominees, and after several months 19 of them have been selected. In the pioneer section the one selected was VIC MURDOCH who was one of the early Golden Gloves boxers in British Columbia. In 1944, he became one of the champions
in the Seattle Golden Gloves and the team included some members of the RCAF during WW II. Forty years later, Vic then a ring official was seen at the 1984 Canadian Olympic boxing team training site. Others were selected in various categories including women-in-boxing and there were three of the women selected including professional boxing champion
JEANNINE GARSIDE along with Teresa Taylor and Linda Gigliotti.
A big thank you to the many that helped along the way including administrators,
honorary directors, nominees, and the many supporters of one or more nominees.
